Sparkle and Shine Challenge's 1st Sketch Challenge

We are so excited to be participating in the very first sketch challenge over at Sparkle and Shine Challenge headed by the lovely Angel Johns and Laurel Beard.  They also have an amazing design team!  This is also the first of many monthly challenges we will be sponsoring with Sparkle and Shine Challenge.

Angel and Laurel invited us to play along with this sketch:

I (Shay) joined in the fun and I made this card based upon the sketch.

I went with a loose interpretation of the sketch.  By stamping the stripes from Scenery: Stripes in falling star (yellow) and fairy dust (grey) from WPlus9 (my first purchase of their ink and certainly not my last!) on the smaller rectangle panel from Essentials: Katharine Cutaways I took on the diagonal shown in the sketch.

Next I stamped the solid open center rose from The Big, the Bold and Extras 3 times in the same yellow and then stamped over the outline and center with mustard seed Tim Holtz Distress Ink by Ranger before cutting them out (I had to play with The Big, the Bold and Extras after seeing all the gorgeous projects everyone has been making with them lately).  I stamped the solid two leaves in the same grey as the stripes and stamped the outline in charcoal Mid-Tone Shadow Ink by Hero Arts 3 times before cutting them out.  I placed them on the stripe panel and adhered them down to mimic the circle in the sketch.

I die cut thanks from The Big, the Bold and You Cutaways out of grey cardstock and adhered it down (I shortened the tail a bit).  I adhered the stripe panel with dimensional foam adhesive onto a grey card base.  Last, I adhered sparkling clear sequins by Pretty Pink Posh (of course!).

We hope you will take on the sketch and link it up on the Sparkle and Shine Challenge!
