Hello everyone.

Today I'll be sharing my last project (projects) for Winnie and Walter. For my double project I decided to create a layout and as I had some leftovers I created a quick card too.

I do this a lot. I LOVE making layouts but I also enjoy creating cards but as I don't have much time I usually don't get out all my supplies just for a card so usually once I have finished a layout I just create a card at the same time.

For my projects I went through my patterned paper stash and picked out some fun vibrant patterns that go together. I cut out different sized balloons and then started playing with the design on my layout.

I drew some string by hand and also added a couple of bows that are on the die set to the balloons. For the embellishments I used some old stickers and chipboard elements.

The card was really simple and I used the same ideas as in the layout.

You can see how the two came together in the video. Some of the creative process is missing due to a problem with uploading the videos. I lost some of the videos. I hope it gives you an ideas of how the layout and card were made.

w&w 4th Birthday Bash | Comeback Challenge with Taheerah

Hi everyone, it's Taheerah! I hope you've been enjoying all the fun challenges today in honour of Winnie & Walter's 4th birthday! Can you believe w&w are only 4 years old?! They've been such a huge part of my stamping life that it feels like they've been around forever, lol!

I couldn't let the occasion pass without getting in on the fun with a challenge of my own!

The crafting world is so chock full of amazing creations from so many talented designers! Our own Talent are a perfect example of that. Time after time they blow me away with all the amazing work they do! So this challenge is somewhat of a tribute to them, as well as 'allowing' myself to indulge in something I *never* let myself do - CASEing!

My challenge is to CASE one of the Talent's awesome creations from over the years and put your own spin on it to bring it up to date! Mimic the marvellous Mayuri! Show your love for the laudable Lydia, Laura, and Lea! Honour the hip Heathers! Celebrate the crafty Crystal! Glorify the gifted Gayatri! Give kudos to the kooky Kate and Kelly! Venerate the voguish Vanessa! Maybe even give a standing ovation to the sensational Shay, or trumpet the talented Taheerah! *wink*

Oh, and in case you're wondering why I've called this a 'Comeback Challenge', well, I see taking an example of someone's older work and putting a fresh spin on it to bring it up to date as the design kinda making a comeback! *wink*

For my project today, I decided to put my own spin on this amazing creation from Kelly:

Isn't this card sensational?! I was blown away by all those little banners with the die cut words and little festive touches strung up with twine like that!

There's a great dimensional component to it too! I love how all the pieces can still move around a bit as well!

So here's my take on Kelly's awesome creation:

I have to say I really enjoyed putting my own spin on Kelly's amazing card! Can you see how much fun I had with this?!

I replaced almost all the word banners with balloons! The different sizes of balloons from the Big Balloon Cutaways and the Big Round Balloon Cutaways gave me plenty of options to play with! I die cut them from white cardstock then used inks to give them their colours and glitter. A couple were die cut from patterned paper too for added interest!

I didn't just stop at balloons though. I included one of the streamers from the Goldie Trim Cutaways, and from The Party Confetti Cutaways for some festive fun, and threw in the 'party' word from The Big, the Bold and Party Cutaways for my sentiment. That's right, this is a stamp-free card - can you believe it?!

I strung up all of my balloons, streamers, and little strips of patterned paper embellishments using some clear thread - and made sure to thread on some sequins too! I didn't actually have any real clear thread, so I cut a very thin strip of acetate and used that in its place! If I were making this card again I'd definitely use some clear thread, and tie little knots between some of the elements to help keep them in place a bit better - but the thin strip of acetate really worked in a pinch too!

I adhered a few of the balloons in place with dimensional glue gel so that the whole thing wouldn't fall apart, but a lot of the elements still have free range of movement. My particular thing I like doing is playing with the sequins and pushing them back and forth, like an abacus. *smile*

I made sure to include a scattering of sequins on my card front too, and some of my trademark splatter! The card is ready to hit the town - and did you notice the die cut balloons and streamers follow the Winnie & Walter logo colours and order? Well, it had to be done seeing as it's their birthday, right?!

I so love this card, and thoroughly enjoyed the process of making it! I truly hope Kelly loves my tribute to her amazing work - she is one of my all-time favourite designers and it was my pleasure to honour her work here!

August Leading Lady Ashwini Rao | Take Two

Hello and welcome to my second post as the Winnie & Walter Leading Lady for August!! The products from the latest release are so fine, I just couldn't stop making many many cards! And then I thought, how about making quick and easy cards. Not necessarily CAS, just quick and easy. And I came up with this bunch. I wasn't exactly timing anything, but I guesstimate that each card could be completed within half an hour, provided you have all the supplies ready. So lets begin!

The main focus on these cards are the elements made using the Big Balloon Cutaways and the Happy Birthday to You stamp set.

For my first set of cards, I wanted to add some bling and shine. So, after stamping the birthday cake, I used silver foil on the mint cake (not sure why its looking gold in the image!) and silver glitter embossing on the pink one. Since I wanted this to be quick, I just used a 2-way glue pen for the adhering the foil, and embossing pen for the embossing. I then fuzzy cut them both. For the spotty background for the blue cake, I used Mini Scenery: Spotty, then a washi strip, and banners cut out using Essential: Lana Cutaways. For the pink cake, I created a background of scripts and stars, made using the sentiments from Sentimental: Birthday and stars from Happy Dance with Evelin T Designs.

For the second set of cards, I used the Big Balloon Cutaways with some pattern paper. Pattern paper is probably one of the easiest and quickest ways to add lots of fun and art to your card, without much work. For the card with the big balloons, I cut the pattern paper using the two biggest balloon dies attached together, then adhered them on a scrap piece of paper which I cut using only the biggest die. Adhering them to the card then was really easy. The sentiment for this card comes from In a Word: Birthday and In Bloom: Carolina's Florals with Angelica Suarez. For the other card, I adhered the pattern paper with some scrap card stock before die cutting. For the balloon strings, I used the leftover piece to cut a very thin strip, and adhered it to the card base directly. All the little sentiments come from Sentimental: Birthday, and are fuzzy cut (might have to spend a little time here ;)) I stamped the grey cardstock with the lines from Scenery: Stripes before adding the balloons and sentiments. Celebrate Your Day with Laura

Hello, friends. It's Laura here and thanks for joining me today! I'm excited to be sharing a cute shaker card featuring some products from the July 2017 Release including the Big Balloon Cutaways and the Happy Dance with Evelin T Designs set along with the Sketchy Thoughts set from a previous release. 

I had a lot of watercoloring fun with this card. I did some freestyle watercoloring with Distress Inks to create a blue sky and a grassy hill. I also watercolor the bunny from the Happy Dance with Evelin T Designs set with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers. These markers are a dream to color with! They blend so easily, there's only one color needed for shading and they are so forgiving. 

When I received the Big Balloon Cutaways, I instantly knew I wanted to create a shaker! I created my shaker with clear acetate, foam sheets and liquid glue. There are many ways to create a shaker - such as the Fuse Tool, but lately I keep coming back to this traditional way of making a shaker. It just makes the sequins move freely.

I filled up my shaker with pretty sequins in shades of blue, silver and clear. I also adhered the bunny image inside the shaker with the same foam sheets. I didn't use self adhesive foam squares to prevent the sequins from sticking to the edges. That's just something to keep in mind when making a shaker. :) Finally, I finished off my card with a sentiment from the Sketchy Thoughts set and some extra sequins here and there.

Happy Birthday with Vanessa

Hello fellow crafters! Vanessa here with a cute birthday card using more of the fab new July Release products! 

It's just too much fun to create with these stamps and dies, so here comes my latest card:

I started with a card base I made from patterned paper. Then I stamped the cute elephant from Happy Dance with Evelin T Designs, colored it with watercolors, die-cut it with the matching die and adhered it with foam tape. I inked a panel of watercolor paper with pink and yellow ink, spritzed it with water and die-cut the biggest balloon from the Big Balloon Cutaways. Now I tied-on pink baker's twine, trimmed the balloon and adhered it to the card with foam tape.

I stamped and heat-embossed the sentiment from Sentimental: Birthday onto a strip of blue cardstock, trimmed it and adhered it to the card. Finally, I added matching sequins.

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments!  I completely agree about Jessica's, Crystal's and the Talent's projects...they are breathtaking.

I have a couple cards for you today.  

My first card uses the new free with purchase stamp set, Happy Birthday to You.  When I created this birthday cake I knew I wanted to play with having one of Evelin's precious critters on top of it so that is exactly what I did with this card.  

I began by inking up the cake with Distress Inks and stamped it on white cardstock and then cut it out.  I smoothed some of the ink by using the water brush over the image being careful not mess up the white parts of the image.  I stamped the incredibly adorable elephant from Happy Dance with Evelin T Designs (more about this stamp set later this week) in black ink and then colored in the elephant with Distress Ink and a water brush and cut it out with the coordinating cutaways.  On the white card base I stamped the outline tulip and leaves from In Bloom: Carolina's Florals with Angelica Suarez in grey ink around the edges.  I then sprinkled inks over the card.  I then adhered the cake and elephant onto the card with dimensional adhesive.

The next card I made using Big Balloon Cutaways which although a really simple die set is something that is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.  

I created a mask with the largest balloon die and using a blending tool and Distress Inks in shades of yellow and then went over the balloon with the water brush which gave a wonderful streaky effect.  I cut out the balloon panel with the larger rectangle panel from Essentials: Katharine Cutaways.  I stamped the sentiment "hoping your birthday is" from Sentimental: Birthday and stamping happy 3 times from Happy Birthday to You.  I then added the highlight cut from white card stock onto the balloon.

On the card base I stamped Mini Scenery: Spotty numerous times with yellow ink before I attached the balloon panel to the card base with dimensional adhesive.
