February Leading Lady Jen Carter | Take Three

Hello again!  I'm excited to be back for my third Leading Lady post!  I've really been enjoying spending time with you this month!  Thank you for all of the nice comments you've left on my posts!  

Today's topic focuses on using the Cover Model: Do You See What I See Cutaway to make two totally different looking cards.

First up is this bright and colorful card.  I die cut the Cover Model: Do You See What I See Cutaway with white cardstock first and then attached that to my cardbase.  I then used a rainbow of colorful cardstock and pieced each row together.  It looks time consuming but it really went quickly.  I just dabbed a dot of glue in each empty space and then inserted the individual pieces one row at a time. 

For the sentiment I die cut the Tagged: Holiday Cheer Cutaways from vellum.  I embossed the yellow "you" that I had stamped using the The Big, The Bold and You stamp set.  The "amazing" was embossed with white and stamped using the same sentiment set.  The little stars were die cut with a die in the Tagged: Holiday Cheer Cutaways.

I like adding a little dimension to my cards so in this photo you can see how I also popped up some of the diamonds in each row.

For my second card I went with a more sophisticated look.  I first die cut the Cover Model die from black cardstock and adhered it to a white card base.  I then chose five colors of cardstock and placed those pieces in the corresponding places using a small dab of glue.  I die cut the "believe" from aqua cardstock using the In a Word: Believe Cutaway die and then layered it on top of two more die cuts to give it dimension.  I stamped the sentiment, from the In Bloom: Debra's Poinsettia with Lydia Evans on black cardstock and then embossed it in white.

w&w 4th Birthday Bash | Die Challenge with Lydia

Hi there everyone! So sorry I'm a little late to the party but I do have a challenge for you! And it's an easy one ;)

Make a card/scrapbook layout/or anything you wish using DIES. Yep that's it.... and you don't even have to use them to cut- dry embossing is also a cool way to use them!  

   

 I stated by stamping out a number of flowers and leaves using In Bloom: Victoria's Very Merry Flowers with Lydia Evans and then cut them out using the coordinating dies.

 

 I then took a piece of white cardstock and dry embossed Cover Model: Do You See What I See? into it..... I have to say I am just LOVING this look at it will not be the last time I do this! I added this onto my card base before adding the flowers and leaves into place using foam tape.

To finish I stamped a sentiment from Sentimental: Birthday in black on a strip of white cardstock. I then added this into place over the floral cluster again with foam tape. And that's it! I can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge!

December Leading Lady Kimberly Rendino | Take Two

Ladies and gentlemen, Kimberly....

Hello friends!  I'm so happy to be back with you again this fine Saturday on the Winnie & Walter blog!  Last week I mentioned that I'd be sharing cards that use NO STAMPING for this post.  That's right....ZERO stamps!   w&w has some seriously awesome dies, and I thought I'd challenge myself to leave the stamps on the shelf this time around!  Here's what I came up with!

I used the Essentials: Josephine Cutaways as the main focus of this card.   First I die cut and then I added some ink blending with Distress Oxide inks.   I adhered the frame piece to my card base and then rotated the main hexagon so that the colors appear opposite, and adhered it with foam tape.  

I die cut the In a Word: Believe Cutaway twice, once from silver glitter paper and once from white, and offset them.   

See those snowflakes?   Can you guess what I used to create them?  I used the Cover Model: Do You See What I See? Cutaway, and just cut apart some of the background.   I'm convinced there are about a million uses for this Cutaway!!!  As a matter of fact, I've used it again on my next card!  

I die cut the Cover Model: Do You See What I See? Cutaway from kraft paper, popped out some of the diamond pieces and adhered it to my card base.   I ran the cutaway through my die cutting machine once again using patterned paper, and added those pieces to the card base.  A few gems in the center add a little bling!  

For the sentiment, I used In a Word: Holiday Tiles Cutaways to die cut the Peace, Love, Joy sentiment from a strip of kraft cardstock.  I mounted it on a piece of matching red cardstock to finish things off!

December Leading Lady Kimberly Rendino | Take One

It's an exciting day as we get to introduce our December Leading Lady, Kimberly Rendino!

Kimberly's style is bold, dramatic and extremely well balanced and we have certainly noticed her work when she's entered our challenges!  In a fact we invited her to be on the w&w blog a while back and you can see here work HERE and  HERE.  

I am really excited to see what Kimberly will be creating this month as she takes us on an adventure of her own design on Saturdays in December on the w&w blog.

Hello there!   My name is Kimberly, and I am so very excited to be w&w's Leading Lady for the month of December!   It's such a thrill to be guesting for one of my very favorite companies - many thanks and big hugs to Shay for inviting me to share with you this month!

So....it's December and everyone is probably expecting me to share some holiday cards - right?  Well, we will definitely get to that later in the month, but today I wanted to focus on how the latest w&w release full of holiday goodness can be used year round!   

First up, a super colorful birthday card using the Cover Model: Do You See What I See? Cutaway.  Can I just tell you how much I love this die!?!   You'll be seeing lots more of it this month!  

 I began by blending a rainbow of Distress Oxide inks onto a piece of bristol cardstock.   Next, I added some Stick It to the back of a black piece of cardstock and die cut the cutaway.   Adding the Stick It before die cutting will help immensely when adhering the cut to the ink blended background!  

I cut a rectangular piece of black cardstock as well as the In A Word: Happy Cutaway.  I temporarily adhered the word die to the black cardstock to aid in placement of the stamping, which was heat embossed in white using In A Word: Happy (the stamp set).   Once the stamping was done, I added some ink blending to the sentiment along with some Glossy Accents, and once dry, I offset it with another die cut and adhered it to the black panel!   

For my next card, I used the holiday set In Bloom: Victoria's Very Merry Flowers with Lydia Evans to create a card that could be used for just about any occasion!

I used my MISTI stamping tool for stamp placement on this card - and the bonus is I only had to place each stamp once - I just rotated the panel and stamped again for a perfect mirror image on the top and bottom. The sentiment, from Wishing You with Evelin T Designs, was stamped and heat embossed in brown, and a few purple Nuvo drops made the perfect berries!

Hello, all! =) Here is my card for this week's Leading Lady post.

This week I decided to play with the Cover Model: Do You See What I See? Cutaway. I used cardstock in Winnie & Walter colors and used the negatives of the die cut for a colorful background. Once again, I used a cutout of the frame as my guide when I glue those little shapes with foam tape.

For a colorful background like this, a dark sentiment would stand out best, so I used one of the happy words from the In a Word: Happy Coordinating Cutaways and shimmery cardstock for the first part of the sentiment. Since stamping on the background would be challenging, I used my Dymo label maker to create the second half of the sentiment.

Again, this one took some time to make, but I found it therapeutic doing it while watching or listening to my favorite TV or podcasts. Hope you likey! =)

Let's get to the fun part and see these products in action.

It's all about florals today and I have a couple of cards for you.

I started by creating backgrounds on panels of white cardstock with Scenery: Buffalo Check Creative Screenings and then I used both Scenery: Ticking Stripe Creative Screenings and Scenery: Grand Trellis Creative Screenings and white embossing paste.  I let them dry and then flicked gold shimmer paint on them.  I set aside to dry for a while.

I stamped the large solid poinsettia in red 5 times and the detail and center in a darker red from In Bloom: Debra's Poinsettia with Lydia Evans and cut it out using the coordinating die.  I also stamped the large leaf 7 times in green and detail in darker green and cut it out using the coordinating die.  I also stamped out the greenery twice from In Bloom: Victoria's Very Merry Flowers with Lydia Evans and cut it out using coordinating die. 

I cut out the "merry" twice from In a Word: Merry Coordinating Cutaways from white cardstock and likewise cut out the scalloped frame from In a Word: Holiday Tiles Cutaways and stamped "christmas" in red from In Bloom: Victoria's Very Merry Flowers with Lydia Evans.   I also cut out the flag tag die from Tagged: Holiday Cheer Cutaways and stamped the same "christmas".  I adhered the cards together with foam dimensional adhesive.  I added some gold glitter enamel dots as a final embellishment.
