I (Shay) decided to try my hand at making something bright and blue to participate in this wonderful blog hop.
Anyone else fond of making their own backgrounds? I had fun creating an emboss resist blue background on some watercolor paper from Tim Holtz using the 2 sizes of the burst from Sparkle (available for purchase on May 1st) that I stamped with Versamark and heat emboss in white. I then used direct to paper method (I smeared the ink pad directly upon the paper) to cover the paper with tumbled glass Tim Holtz Distress Ink by Ranger. With a waterbrush I added rings of darker color around the bursts using salty ocean and chipped sapphire Distress Inks. I cut the paper to make it slightly smaller than A2 card and adhered it to a white card base. Here is a better look at the background:
I cut the tag from white cardstock using Essentials: Katharine Cutaways and also cut the strip of dots from the tag using the same Essentials: Katharine Cutaways. I cut out the "thanks" from The Big, the Bold and You Cutaways twice from marine glitter paper by American Crafts and once from navy cardstock. I adhered the glitter thanks together and then added the navy layer slightly offsetting it for a shadowed look. I added the thanks to the tag and adhered the tag to the card using dimensional foam adhesive.
I hope you have a delightful time hopping along for such a worthy cause!
