w&w 4th Birthday Bash | Special Guest Star Amy Tsuruta

amytsuruta

Today's special guest star, Amy Tsuruta, is a long-time friend of Winnie & Walter as she was our March 2015 Leading Lady and someone we always invite to guest for events as she and her work is always a delight!  Amy is just one of those people you love because they are so friendly and supportive not mention she is an amazing artist. Please give her a warm w&w welcome!

Hello!  Amy here from Tsuruta Designs and I'm so thrilled to be helping celebrate Winnie & Walter's Fourth Birthday!  Today I'm playing along with Lea's Shaker Challenge!  My spin is my love for COFFEE!

I used the Warm Wishes to You stamps + coordinating Cutaways.  Do you spy the other set that I used for my design?  Perhaps you saw this photo I posted on Friday:

I used the For Luck set that was free with qualifying purchase (through February 23, 2018).  I stamped the medium and small shamrocks in Catherine Pooler Designs Grass Skirt ink on Shrinky Dink film.

The shamrocks make a nice addition to the sequin mix, perfect to send around St Patrick's  Day.  If you've been following me for any amount of time you know that I love coffee + the color green.

I actually placed foam tape behind the coffee mug so that the sequins wouldn't get lost behind it.

That's it for me, a big shout out to Shay for the invite and big birthday wishes!!!

w&w 3rd Birthday Bash | Special Guest Star Amy Tsuruta Take Two

Our dear, sweet and talented friend, Amy Tsuruta, is back for her second appearance to celebrate our 3rd Birthday Bash.  If you missed her fabulous first post please CLICK HERE.

As always it is a pleasure to have Amy here on the w&w blog!

Hello!  I'm so thrilled to be back again on the Winnie & Walter blog!  I have several projects to share with you so let's get started!

First up is a card that was inspired by a package of washi that I own.  I'm always on the hunt for great color combo's, what do you think?

I started off with the Scenery:  Stripes 2 and then layered the surprise sentiment from The Big, the Bold and Baby set.  The sweet has been heat embossed in white on black cardstock and is from the same set.

Coming soon to the Winnie & Walter shop, is the From the Bottom of My Heart stamp.  It was originally released as a Free with Purchase through February 17th but will be re-released in 2017!  I love the sentiment and the solid space in the design, perfect to show off the beauty of Delicata Gold ink:

A clean and simple card but check out that shimmer!  The gold detail strip on the left is washi that I have secured on with a strip of adhesive.  I finished off the card with a strip of black, the right amount of boldness to the design.

For those of you that follow me know how much I adore coffee and I couldn't go without at least designing one coffee card:

I'm also playing along with the Ink Smooshing Challenge with Heather H.  The coffee cup is me freestyle cutting, retro style with paper and scissors.  The coffee sleeve has been embellished with Sketchy Thoughts.  The ink smooshing was perfect for my design, I combined Mowed Lawn + Salty Ocean Distress Inks.

The cup and the sentiment bubble are on foam dimensionals.

That's it for me.  A big shout out to Shay for inviting me to the party, I had so much fun!

w&w 3rd Birthday Bash | Special Guest Star Amy Tsuruta

birthdaybashspecialgueststar-amy

For our 3rd Birthday Bash we have several special guest stars joining us.  Our first special guest star is someone everyone can't help but love with her constant encouragement, giving nature and beautifully clean and simple style: Amy Tsuruta!  She has been a leading lady of ours and joined us as a special guest star in the past and it is a real delight to have her on the w&w blog every time.  To see all of Amy's projects on the w&w blog please CLICK HERE.

Now we happily turn over the w&w blog today to Amy....

Hello! It's Amy here and I'm super excited to be guesting here on the Winnie & Walter blog today!  I have a couple projects to share with you so let's get started!

First up is a project that features the new Mini Scenery:  Bed of Roses and a sentiment from the Welcome to the Family with Evelin T Designs.

One style of card that I simply do not design enough of are birthday cards, how about you?  I decided to use the Essentials:  Noelle Cutaways and layer the Mini Scenery:  Bed of Roses on top.  I stamped the roses in Distress Ink - Mowed Lawn and then watercolored the image.

After everything was completely dry, I topped off the card with the happy birthday sentiment.

This is going to be perfect for an upcoming birthday party that I'm going to this weekend.

I have a couple more cards to share with you:

I managed to play along with some of the W&W 3rd Birthday Bash Challenges!

Eep!  The Big Hugs with Evelin T Designs is ADORABLE!  I couldn't wait to ink this set up!  How cute is that ellie and monkey?  I did a bit of a watercolor background and then used the You Mean the World To Me Sentiment in black.  I finished it off with a green doily and coordinating clothespin.

I wish you could see the sparkle of the mocha color...it's metallic and so pretty.  I used 3 different colors of nail polish and used THIS technique inspired by THIS card.

Things I learned:

Wear Gloves
Use darker colors
Be prepared with all your supplies

You'll be seeing more marbling from me.  It's a fun technique and I need to find some different bottles of polish!

That's it for me today!

w&w Belated 2nd Birthday Bash | Special Guest Star Amy Tsuruta Part Deux

200specialgueststaramy

We are very fortunate that some of our special guest stars are joining us more than once! Today we welcome back Amy Tsuruta as she takes on another challenge.   To see Amy's first post CLICK HERE.

You are going to love her cards today!

Hello, it’s Amy and I’m thrilled to be back again guesting for the awesome Belated 2nd Birthday Bash!  I couldn’t wait to play along in a couple more of the challenges.  Here’s a quick peek at both of my cards:

Thankful duo by Amy Tsuruta for Winnie and Walter

My thankful card was inspired by Heather’s Color Challenge:  Coral ● Lime ● Aqua

The In Bloom: Paulina’s Greenery Cutaways are absolutely stunning, aren’t they?  I layered aqua and gold card stock.  The sentiments are from the Happiest of Holidays with Evelin T Designs.  I stamped the friendship sentiment on the scallop strip from the Essentials:  Noelle Cutaways.  Love the scallop rectangle as my card base.  I did a smidge of watercoloring in the middle to capture lime color.

Next up is another card using the Essentials: Noelle Cutaways as the base.  This card was inspired by Heather H’s Gold + Watercoloring Challenge.

I knew that I wanted to incorporate the Mini Scenery: Madison stamp into my design.  I used my MISTI to stamp it in Versmark and follow it up with clear embossing powder.  I quickly watercolored it with my Zig Clean Color Markers.  Isn’t the In a Word: Thanks Cutaway awesome in gold glitter card stock?  The sentiment is the same one that I used in my other card, from Happiest of Holidays with Evelin T Designs.

A big thanks to Shay and for all the W&W Design Team members for their awesome inspiration!

w&w Belated 2nd Birthday Bash | Special Guest Star Amy Tsuruta

200specialgueststaramy

Our next Special Guest Star, Amy Tsuruta, not only is amazingly gifted at crafting, but is honestly one of the sweetest and amazing people I have had the pleasure and honor to encounter.  Our crafting community is brighter because she's a vital part of it.  I am always in awe of how many others she supports with her lovely comments on their blogs, posts and the like.  When does this gal sleep?  Or perhaps she is just supercharged by her beloved coffee!  Whatever it is she never disappoints and I know you will love her cards today!

Hello! It's Amy here and I'm thrilled to be guesting for Winnie & Walter's 2nd Birthday Bash!

Winnie and Walter 2nd birthday bash by Amy TsurutaI was thoroughly inspired by Taheerah's inspiration photo and ended up designing 2 cards. My first one, thanks, was inspired by all the patterns and colors in the photo. I wanted to incorporate some pink into the card and did the ink smooshing technique.

My second card, home was the designed because I realized that the thanks card had no stamping. I loved using the Happiest of Holidays with Evelin T Designs for a non-holiday card. It was a way for me to also use the, In a Word: Home Cutaway. How can anyone resist gold glitter?! I masked off the sentiment to incorporate the word home.
