AND Stephanie Klauck of Simon Says Stamp is playing along today on the Simon Says Stamp blog. Yay! We love Stephanie and thank her and Simon Says Stamp for being truly fabulous. We can't wait until STAMPtember(R)! :-) How about you? What do you like most about STAMPtember(R)?
Your challenge today should you choose to accept it is to create an original project inspired by the sketch below using w&w products + Simon Says Stamp products.
Sketch based upon THIS CARD by Gayatri.
Julie
This is such a fun sketch and, by the way, I should have timed this one because I know I made it REALLY fast. LOL Anyway, I needed a thank you card for my tech crew at work and I wanted it to have a gender neutral look. I was inspired by some Basic Grey 6x6 papers from the Hey You! collection (a recent gift from Ms. Shay! Thank you!!!) With the orange chevrons, I just had to grab our Scenery: V for cheVron and stamped the chevron strip in coordinating colors with the cardstocks. The Thanks from the Simon Says Stamp Thought Bubble worked perfectly stamped in a dark brown over the colorful chevrons. Last but not least, some enamel dots because I just had to! Hee Hee! I really have to stop hoarding them. Easy peasy lemon squeazy! Enjoy the inspiration today - fun stuff ahead - just keep scrolling :)
Shay
Isn't Julie's project modern and trendy! I may be partial to chevrons and the colors, but you gotta love that you could send it to a guy or gal.
I have been getting the Simon Says Stamp card kits since the second kit came out (I missed out on the first one darn it! lol). Simon Says Stamp + Kristina Werner + kit with stamp = one happy Shay. lol They pack each card kit with amazing products including a stamp set designed specifically for the kit and folks they are pretty darn fantastic. I highly recommend a subscription to this card kit (did you see September's kit?!? Seriously? "I love big books and I cannot lie!") as it is a bit like Christmas when you open up that sweet Simon Says Stamp box every month.
Last month they came out with the Sending Happy Mail Card Kit (sadly, but not surprisingly sold out. Silver lining for this dark cloud: the crazy-cool Sending Happy Thoughts stamp set is still available) that seemed to be designed to warm my little mail-loving heart. Happy mail has to be one the bestest little pleasures in life.
The colors, sentiments, images, embellishments were perfection. So I grabbed for this kit when making this card and paired it up with You've Got Love Mail and The Big, the Bold and Happy. Oh the joy! The delight! Craft-swoon!
I stamped those envelopes in a trailing manner like the sketch in cornflower Hero Arts Mid-Tone Shadow Ink and hearts in the Lipstick Red Simon Says Stamp ink. I then used some of the lighter adorable patterned paper in the kit to stamp the envelopes on. I placed some of the paper pieced envelopes over their stamp counterpoints on the card. Then I stamped the "hello" in navy Hero Arts Mid-Tone Shadow Ink and then used a clear Zig Wink of Stella pen to add sparkle to it (although you can't see it in the pictures).
I adhered the white panel onto two layers of patterned paper also from the kit curling up the edges and used foam dimensional adhesive to adhere it all to a white card base.
Just one last shout out to Gayatri for creating the incredible card that we based the sketch upon...love it and the card layout! And now you get to see her be inspired by herself (awesome!) plus Heather's, Joni's, Kelly's, Laura's and Vanessa's stunning takes on this sketch.
