My name is Heather, and I blog over at Houses Built of Cards. Here is a little about me: I have been married for 14 years to the man of my dreams, and have two sweet daughters age 11 and almost 10 that I homeschool. I absolutely LOVE making cards – and also enjoy scrapbooking memories of my family. I lived my entire life up until about two years in Northwestern Washington State, and now live in a very small town in Wyoming. It has been an adjustment in many ways -especially the cold winters that can hit -40 degrees! – it has been nothing short of an adventure for us all, with the normal ups and downs of adjusting to being away from our family and friends back in Washington. If you aren’t familiar with my blog name, then let me explain a little! When I started card making, I quickly found that I was making WAY more cards than I could possibly use. Thanks in part to my young daughters and something they both cared deeply for, I decided to direct all the proceeds from the sales of my cards to the building of houses for widows and their children in Burundi, Africa, through a ministry called Sister Connection. Building one house is amazingly just $600!!! I just finished the money portion of my 5th house, and am continuing to work toward a 6th. If you are interested, you can read more about that HERE.

I am super excited to be playing with my Winnie and Walter Stamps this month! From their first release, I fell in love – most particularly with the beautiful Big and Bold line of stamps. The font is so fun and versatile – works equally well for cute and classy projects! And everything else has been simply amazing as well! So looking forward to sharing my projects this month!

>>>HEATHER'S PROJECTS<<<

Good morning! I'm SUPER excited to be kicking off something fun for me this month! Several weeks ago I got an email from Shay at Winnie and Walter inviting me to be their guest "Leading Lady" for the month of August! I am super excited to share a project (or two or three!) every Saturday for the month of August with my Winnie and Walter stamps. I decided to kick off the month by combining Bubble Talk with some simple shapes cut with my Silhouette Cameo!

I also used the same paper pad for all three cards - My Mind's Eye Now and Then - with the exception of the die cut shapes which were cut with paper from Basic Grey's Fresh Cut paper pad. This first card also features some gold enamel stars from Eyelet Outlet.

I just love this funny owl on the second card! I added a frame from some Freckled Fawn embellishments that I had in my stash, as well as some wiggly eyes.

And lastly - this hipster cat! I thought it was so cute! I attached all the die cuts for each card, as well as the stamped speech bubbles with foam adhesive for fun dimension, and inked the edges of the speech bubbles with Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink - love the way this softens up white cardstock and helps it blend in with the softer colors.

Feel free to swing by my blog, Houses Built of Cards for more pictures and details on each of these cards - as well as a chance throughout the month to win a $30 gift card to Winnie and Walter just for leaving a comment! Thanks so much Shay and Julie for giving me this fun opportunity!
