Did you know that we are celebrating our love and admiration for Simon Says Stamp this week with inspiration, challenges and giveaways? Today is Day 4 and it is another great day. Hope you are having as much fun as we are!
Simon Says Stamp is so awesome that they are giving away a $25.00 gift card to their store on instagram (@simonsaysstamp) just for commenting on their picture of The Big, the Bold and Seasons with your favorite w&w stamp. It is only open for a few more hours so make sure to check it out!
Today our challenge is: One Layer. Try to make a one layer project using w&w products + Simon Says Stamp products.
Shay
This is such a fun challenge (then again they all have been)! I pulled out my stencils from Simon Says Stamp. Have I ever mentioned I love stencils and masks? If not, I should have! Simon Says Stamp has some really incredible stencils and masks and they are perfect for adding interest and dimension without adding bulk.
For this card I began with a white card base and the Leaves mask and inked around it with evergreen bough and broken china Tim Holtz Distress Inks by Ranger. Then using the Leaves stencil I drew in the outline of the leaves with a black pen. I then added some removable adhesive to the back of the mask and attached it over the leaves impression on the card. Next, I placed the Diagonal Stripes stencil over the card, attached it with washi on the edges and misted water over it which reacted with the Distress Ink...cool, right? To help with drying I quickly dried the card with my heat tool. I stamped "blessings" from The Big, the Bold and Blessings in Versamark and heat embossed it using Zing gold glitter finish embossing powder (messy, but pretty!) and then last were some gold sequins (sorry, I simply could not resist and they are fairly flat! lol). Another alternative would be to stamp and emboss the sequins from Scenery: Big Bang Bling.
It's time to see the impressive projects that Gayatri, Heather, Laura, Mayuri and Vanessa have made!
