Season's Greetings with Gayatri

Hello friends. Welcome back. This is Gayatri here with you today with a holiday card.

I started this card with the idea of making an one layer card. But the masking tape did some ink bleeding into the masked area that I had to modify the card. This card is the result. Lesson learnt. Do not stamp many layers using Distress Oxide inks over masking paper. Dye inks are the best. I still love this card. Just not want I planned to make.

So I masked a white card front with masking tape on all four sides and sponged Victorian Velvet and Seedless Preserve distress inks. Then I stamped the images from Winnie & Walter's Winter Wonderland stamp set using Bundled Sage, Forest Moss and Vintage Photo distress oxide inks. Over lapping the images on the masks and stamping few layers made the inks bleed into the masked area. While the masks were still on, I spattered some white paint as snow. Then removed the masks and left the panel to dry. I then rose gold heat embossed the sentiment on a strip of green cardstock, trimmed to fish tail end on one side.

I tried sanding the inks from the masked area using the sand eraser. But that didn't work. I also tried with scalpel but to no avail. So I decided to add the pink glitter tape as a border to cover the inks. Then I trimmed the card front and adhered the panel to the green card base. Before that I sponged the green card front with vintage photo distress ink to give depth. Then the sentiment strip is adhered on the bottom left of the panel using foam adhesives.

Finally I added some rose gold sequins to bring the card together. Hope you are inspired by the colours on this card. All the w&w supplies used to make this card are listed below.
