Halloween Recipe Scrapbook Page with Kelly

Hi Folks! Kelly here with another page from our family's recent wedding recipe scrapbook. This page features many of the stamps from Winnie & Walter's classic Moonlight set. I've gotten so much use out of this Halloween set over the years, and it's no surprise how easy it was to pull together a Halloween themed scrapbook page with this collection of stamps. Let's take a look at some of the elements ...

The Eat Drink and Be Scary "title" of this page is nice because it's a single stamp and doesn't have to be arranged together. Also, it fits the whole recipe theme of the page! I always like font that has open letters because it's easy to customize the words to your project ... just use a sharp colored pencil to fill in the letters with coordinating colors. The bunting below the title is also easy to color in. A few creepy spiders hanging around, some wink of stella sparkle, and wrapped gold thread finish off this corner of the page.
Following the thread down to the lower corner, we see it's actually connected to a spider! I've used some patterned paper for the background and placed the spider I cut out right in the middle of his web. He's got a pop dot underneath to make him better stand out from the black and white background.

I think the side of this page has a pretty good flow, with the spiders on top and one spider towards the bottom, and also the gold thread literally connecting both sections of the page.

Under the photo are several of the pumpkins from this set cut out and layered together. I like how the faces are separate so you can choose to use them on all, none, or some of your pumpkins. I only added a face to one pumpkin because I didn't want the visual clutter to take away from the actual faces in the photo.
I also added one of my favorite elements ... a flag from the Wish Big with Evelin T Designs set. I've actually cut out dozens of these flags and have them on my desk so I can add a quick accent to my project. Would you guess the tiniest pumpkin stamp ever from Moonlight fits perfectly in the flag?! That just makes me super happy : )
As wonderful as all these elements are, my absolute favorite thing about this page (aside from the dear family in the photo) is the actual recipe for our family's traditional Pumpkin Bars. Grandma Griglione (pictured above) is no longer with us, but we treasure the memories of her serving the moist pumpkin bars with thick cream cheese frosting at Halloween. The fact that this is the actual recipe she used to make those treats, and in her own handwriting no less, is completely priceless. Keeping these memories alive and passing them down to the next generation is just so important to me.

I sure enjoyed sharing this page with you!

Thanks so much for looking!
-Kelly

  3. Absolutely wonderful page, Kelly! That is such a sweet family photo & love all your cute elements--especially the little pumpkin on the flag! What a super way to keep your treasured recipe. I have quite a few in my mom's handwriting, but never thought of using them this way.
