w&w 4th Birthday Bash | Blog Hop Celebrating Love and Friendship

Hello lovelies!

Shay here to kick off our 4th Birthday Bash Blog Hop Celebrating Love & Friendship.  I couldn't think of a better theme to celebrate for our birthday bash than love and friendship especially in the month of February. We have amazing designers whether they are special guest stars or The Talent that I love lined up to inspire you along the way!

First, I have a fun card to send to a friend that may need a little pick me up or just because they are awesome using In Bloom: Ashlee's Rosie Posies with Lydia Evans, Dotty About You with Lydia Evans, In Bloom: Ashlee's Rosie Posies with Lydia Evans Cutaways, True Dotty Heart Cutaways and Scenery: Rugby Stripe Creative Screenings along with Catherine Pooler Designs Inks in Fiesta Blue, Aquatini, Grass Skirt and Lime Rickey to create it.

I began by temporarily adhering the scalloped heart from True Dotty Heart Cutaways to a white cardstock panel.  I used the Scenery: Rugby Stripe Creative Screenings with the inks in the order I named them above with my ink blending tools.  I applied more ink to the right and left it lighter as I moved to the left--really love the intensity and coverage of color with these inks!  When I moved the stencil away from the panel I had four really thick and clean stripes of color (by coincidence this card with the 4 colors would work for my Four Challenge...we have ten (10) month-long challenges in all as part of our 4th Birthday Bash).  I removed the heart and set it aside for later.

I wanted to add some movement and interest to the background so I chose the two smallest outline flowers from In Bloom: Ashlee's Rosie Posies with Lydia Evans and stamped them in the appropriate colors in a diagonal line on the panel.  I also added the dots from the smallest oval of dots from Dotty About You with Lydia Evans for more visual texture.  Then I got out the gold spray and flicked it because I love it and can't get enough of it.

 

For the scalloped heart I actually adhered another scalloped heart behind the striped one and inked the edges with the Fiesta Blue ink.  I stamped "be your own kind of" sentiment from  In Bloom: Ashlee's Rosie Posies with Lydia Evans using Aquatini.  I stamped the larger "beautiful" from the same stamp set in Grass Skirt and Lime Rickey on a piece of white cardstock and then I cut it out using In Bloom: Ashlee's Rosie Posies with Lydia Evans Cutaways then I glued it to the heart and adhered the heart to the panel with dimensional foam adhesive in the spot it originally was when I used the stencil.  I glued the panel to an A2 white card base.

Finally, I added some matching enamel dots.
