And here is my color inspiration for this month:
For this month's inspiration I chose a fashion piece that inspired me! As I often find myself doing, I not only pulled the color inspiration, but my design inspiration from this as well! I used mini distress inks in Mowed Grass, Salty Ocean, Mustard Seed, and Worn Lipstick and swiped them directly across a panel of watercolor paper, then blended with a waterbrush. Once that dried, I stamped over the top with some of the stripes from Scenery: Stripes in black. I added the large white "hi" die cut using In a Word: Hi Cutaway, and added the rest of my sentiment stamped on the bottom of that large die using The Big, the Bold, and the Happy and The Big, the Bold, and Friends. I mounted that with foam adhesive, then added a tiny little heart sticker to finish it off!
Now - I have a few favorites from the last Color Challenge to feature! Every single project was lovely, but I thought I'd give a shout out to a few that especially caught my eye!
First up - this GORGEOUS card from Maryam - the lovely background, those gorgeous watercolored flowers, the pretty scallop border, and the sentiment and touch of sequins all add up to a perfect card! And the photography is beautiful as well - loving that background!
Next up - I love me some pretty pattern paper paired with a doily, and Greta nailed this combination perfectly! So gorgeous and perfect with the color combo as well!
And finally, this beauty by Preeti - you don't have to look far at all to see how the color combo inspired her - she got it perfect! Love that pretty watercolored background, the lovely flowers, and the tiny droplets as the perfect finish!

Oh, hooray....another color challenge!!! Such a fun inspiration photo and so beautifully made into a card. Heather, I love these vivid colors and the way you stamped onto the die-cut!! I need to hunt around and see if any of my stamps and dies will work that way!!
ReplyDeleteHuge congratulations to Maryam as the lucky winner and a Top Pick! I love that softly stenciled background. Such a stunning card with the wonderful black matting and die-cut for contrast.
Congratulations also to Greta...oh, my goodness, I am IN LOVE with that romantic doily and gorgeous patterned paper! (I do love Graphic 45 and this was the perfect piece to use from Secret Garden...a collection which I am closely hoarding!) Exquisite card!!
And congratulations to Preeti, too! Her cards are always beautiful and I love the wonderful watercoloring that used all the shades of the color inspiration palette! I agree with Heather that the clear droplets were the perfect finish. So lovely!!
Thank you for another color challenge. I just love this feature!!!
