Sentiments are important...really important. Sometimes you want one big word to speak for you and fill up space. A lot of space. And sometimes you want smaller words to work in concert with the focal word. The smaller words can also work without the large word. That's what we were thinking when we came up with The Big, The Bold, and the Happy stamp set. Grand or small this is a versatile and fun sentiment set. We hope you love this set as much as we do!

One of the things I like most about this sentiment set is
the ability to build your own perfect sentiment for whatever project you are
working on. I am looking forward to using these sentiments in my Project Life
and Scrapbooking pages for years to come.
I decided to create a
banner to feature my sentiment as the focal point. I inked the banner with the Hero Arts Raspberry Jam and
an ink blending tool, and then stamped the sentiment in Versamark and embossed
it in white.
I really love the
confetti cards I've been seeing around the web (and on yesterday's post) and I wanted to combine both the
dot and circle confetti for the background of my card. I first stamped the
circle/bubble confetti in Raspberry Jam and then the dots, embossing them in
white also. For a finishing touch, I
added some white enamel dew drops from Freckled Fawn. *sigh* Love this color combo and how the bright white sentiment looks against the raspberry banner. So striking!
This card started off with trying out my new Shine sprays
from Heidi Swapp in mustard and gold – how great are these? Love how they shimmer and shine! I also decided to play with some washi tape
from Teresa Collins and a sticker strip from Fancy Pants Wonderful Day line on
a white cardstock base. I love this
color palette of teals and yellows and the great mix of patterns. I added this piece to yellow shimmer
cardstock and then onto the teal card base.
I wanted the Hello sentiment to layer in front of the washi
tape, so instead of stamping the sentiment, I chose to cut it out in this great bright pink cardstock using our coordinating Cut That Out digital cutting files and
stamped “friend” to complete the phrase.
For a little more sparkle, I added some aqua sequins. What a fun card!
What's not to love about big pretty words and smaller typewriter type of words to accent the big words or use on their own? That's The Big, the Bold, and the Happy. I am so pleased with how you can build sentiments or use a single word to great effect. I decided to make a trio of cards so that I could focus on each of the big bold words.
For this card I chose the big love to build a card around. I have been wanting to make a shaker card for ages and I saw this as a perfect opportunity. I sewed acetate from packaging to a frame by Pink Paislee to make a pocket. I filled up the acetate pocket with some shimmery pink star sequins. I know hearts would have been the ideal shape for a love card, but these little stars were a lovely color and too darn cute! I sewed up the top edge. I tied some ribbon around the frame and attached the gold embossed love I fussy cut. I cut a window into the front of the card. I then stamped the happy valentine's in Versamark through the window for correct alignment and embossed in gold. Lastly, I adhered the shaker frame over the window.
This card focuses upon the large happy. I wanted to show how this sentiment set can also work for masculine or gender neutral cards. And it really does! I white-embossed the happy and used a charcoal Hero Arts dauber over the panel for a chalkboard look. Next I stamped birthday over and over and over (you get the idea). I added the wood veneer flag and washi both from the Oh Deer Me November kit (super adorable monthly embellishment kit by the outstanding Freckled Fawn!). I used patterned papers from Crate Paper's DIY Shop 6x6 paper pad to mount the birthday panel upon.
Bring on the 80's! I went neon for this colorful card. I wanted to show how the little words can be used like tiles (or to look a bit like dymo tape labels) and how you can use many of the words together for a customized sentiment. I stamped the little words in Versamark, white embossed the words and smeared them with black soot Distress Ink. I cut them into rectangles. On the white card I stamped hello in black Versafine and then flicked on neon Mister Huey's Color Mists by Studio Calico in bodacious names like trapper keeper, my little pony, windbreaker, mixed tape and Punky Brewster. I added the black word tiles around the hello and finished the card off with silver sequins because glitz is a must for this sort of card!
