Today we are thrilled to introduce our November Leading Lady, Isha Gupta. Isha's work is colorful and bright with a flexibility that enables her to do whimsical or elegant with equal dexterity and grace. Isha is excellent at coloring as well! Isha is a wife and mother of 2 girls living in the country of Switzerland and she's incredibly gifted as evidenced by being published numerous times in various magazines, being a winner in the Thank You category of World Card Making Day 2014 and being on the design teams of SugarPea Designs, Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko (we saw her beautiful art displayed in their booth at CHA this past January!), Chameleon Color Tone Markers, Make Amazing Design Team, Waffle Flower Challenge Team and Scraphouse Inspiration Blog.
Over the next few Saturdays in November Isha will be leading us on a journey of her own design and imagining. Make sure to visit her blog, New Ideas by Isha Gupta, to see more from her and for a chance to win a giveaway!
Hello Winnie and Walter fans!! I am so very excited and honored to be the leading lady for the month of November here on the blog! Thank you Julie and Shay for having me here :)
Actually, I love all the releases of Winnie & Walter but this new release from October just knocked me off! There are so many products, which are not just for holidays but versatile for the year round.
Let's begin. As you know "Watercolor" is so in trend for sometime now. I am focusing my post on how to use stamps to create watercolor cards. I created some easy cards and some a bit more complex cards but they have a couple of things in common: They all are Christmas cards and I've used almost the same set of stamps but with various techniques to make them all look different.
For my first card I used "Winter Woodland" "In Bloom: Elsa's Flora" "Merry & Bright with Evelin T Designs" stamps and "Essentials: Noelle Cutaways"
I stamped the images, went over them with a damp brush and then stamped and embossed a couple more pine leaves. I also used the Camouflage die-cutting technique for the sentiment layer. I die-cut the center using the Noelle cutaways smaller scalloped layer and used fun foam underneath it.
Now for my 2nd. card I used "Mini Scenery: Multigrain" in addition to the stamps I used above. Here I kept my card CAS. Stamped the images and went over them with a damp brush. Love this woodgrain pattern :)
I went around the edges with a thin brush and some Shimmer Spritz Gold.
Card 3
This time I used my traditional watercolors and the stamps did all the magic :) Love this Poinsettia bloom and all the different filler images. I used the same stamps as Card 1.
Now for my last card I used the same supplies as above but created a CAS version with less color and images.
There you go, with the similar supplies and techniques, we can achieve various looks as per our linking :) I am so enjoying watercoloring that it is difficult to stop :) Anyhow, I hope you enjoyed my post. Thank you for dropping by and see you next week. Happy crafting!!
