Now, it's Anja 's time to sparkle and shine...

I am so happy to be back at the Winnie & Walter blog for another post. Thank you very much for this chance and hopefully you all will be inspired by the cards I am going to show today.

The theme for this month is still in bloom and didn't they have an awesome new release for this month. It's a pity that I wasn't able to order in time to play with these new stamps and dies but the older ones are nice too. So remember all the cards and techniques I will show you today can also be done with the new stamps and dies.

Enough blah, blahh , here are the cards and sorry if I went a little bit overboard so I think you have to take your favorite beverage and sit down and enjoy.

I would like to focus on the DIES for this post. Unfortunately I only have the In a Word: Cheers CutawayIn a Word: Happy Cutaway and In a Word: Love Cutaway in my possession but that will change soon I guess.........

 1. Using dies to create a background.

For this first card I used the CHEERS worddie. I run it several times trough my  cutting machine and placed them on a sidefolded white card creating a textured background.

I measured the middle of the card and cut a heart. With another heartshaped die I cut a frame out of black cardstock and adhered it to the card. I used two pieces of transparency to create a shaker heart and placed some golden sequins, hearts and beads inside this shaker.

I stamped the rose image from The Big, the Bold and Extras several times on vellum with versamark ink and heat embossed it with golden embossing powder. TIP; When you heatemboss vellum make sure you heat up your heatgun first so you will make the contact with the vellum so short as possible althus preventing the vellum to curl up. After I did this I colored the backside of the flowers with copics. TIP; color the backside of your vellum when you use copics because they dry a little bit longer and otherwise you could smear the images.

Also stamp some leaves and the banner the same way as you did with the roses. After fuzzy cutting everything I adhered it at the card.

To finish of the front of the card I adhered some sequins and some beads at random.

Now for the inside of the card I used the heartshape I cut out from the front of the card. Placed another flower with some leaves and some sequins.

Finally stamped the sentiment following the heartshape and rounded the corners of the card.

TIP; Since the stamps are clear and easy to bend you can stamp your sentiments in any form you would like, just for the shape on your acrylic block and stamp they will always go back in their original form.

2. Using positive and negative diecutting.

I love it when you can make two cards at the same time by using your product in a different way.

For these two cards I used the Worddie HAPPY and I used both the positive die and the negative die.

The positive die;

I began with some scrap of white paper and placed some washi-tape. I diecut the word happy and saved the negative diecut for the second card.

I started with a top folded white cardbase. Placed the same washi-tape at the sides of the card.

I took a white cardpanel and used Duo: The Big, the Bold and Extras Creative Screenings and some distress ink to make a background. Used some vellum in the same size as the panel and stamped the rose and leaves from The Big, the Bold and Extras set in versamark and white embossed it. First adhered the happy die out of white cardstock and then adhered the washi-tape diecut slightly of to create some kind of shadow. Stamped the word birthday from the Sugar Rush set and placed some sequins.

For some extra interest I teared the bottom of the vellum.

At the top of the vellum I handstitched a line with embroidery thread and adhered the vellum at the white panel.

TIP ; it's always hard to find a good way to adhere vellum. When you make a stitched line you can use some small tape behind it to adhere it no one will see.

The negative die;

That leaves us with the negative of the diecut.

Again I used a topfolded white cardbase. But first I made a shaker out of the negative happy word by using some transparency and white cardstock and filled it with those tiny orange sequins.

I placed some patterned paper at the top of the card and some other woodgrain patterned paper at the bottom. Adhered the shakerelement and again stamped some roses and leaves on copic friendly paper and colored them with copics and fuzzy cut. Adhered the flowers and placed some extra sequins.

To finish the card I rounded the corners and stamped the word birthday from The Big, the Bold and Party set.

 And to make it really shine I used my wink of stella clear glitterpen on the roses.

3. Stamping on diecuts.

And once again I made two cards at one time using the Worddie CHEERS.

I started by stamping the Mini Scenery: The Peppermint Zone stamp in three different green colors distress ink and on another piece of white cardstock two different colors blue ink. I diecut the word CHEERS out of both pieces of cardstock.

For the first card I used the green background and did the inlaid technique with the blue word.

Somehow the word got lost so I traced the outline with a black pencil. Stamped the sentiment from The Party set and adhered the panel onto a black panel. For the cardbase I used a top folded white card and stamped the flowers from The Party set using the rocking technique. The leaves from The Big, the Bold and Extras are stamped in black. I adhered the panel on the card and rounded the edges.

For the second card I used the blue panel and the green diecut word. This time I diecut some more cheers words out of white cardstock and layered them together and ended with the green word. I once again stamped the roses from The Party on vellum and white heat embossed them and fuzzy cut them. I placed them behind the cheers word.

I took some blue cardstock made a fishtail and white heat embossed the sentiment from The Party set.
I placed the panel onto some vellum and used some twine.

For the cardbase I took a top folded blue cardstock and stamped in tone on tone a striped pattern for this striped pattern I used the party hat from The Party set.

I also took some green cardstock and stamped at random the rose from The Big, the Bold and Extras tone on tone . Now I put the card together layering the different papers at an angle to give it more interest. Placed some sequins and I had another finished card.

4. The inlaid technique;

I hope you are still with me I would like to show two more cards. I think you can tell I am addicted to those diecuts they are so versatile.

For this card I used the Worddie LOVE. I diecut it out of a scrap of white paper and heat embossed it in gold. Then I diecut it from the patterned paper at the bottom, make sure you gather all the little diecuts you will need them.

Now I took another patterned paper and positioned it above the first placed the diecut and diecut the love word.

At the back of both patterned papers I placed some double sided tape and I popped in the golden love word. Took all the little pieces and like a puzzle placed them back.

For the background I use Scenery: Big Bang Circle Creative Screenings and gold embossed it.

Again some vellum roses and the XO is from the paperpad. To finish of the card I heat embossed some hearts and sentiment from the You've Got Love Mail set.

I placed the whole panel onto a top folded white cardbase using some fun foam so it stayed rather flat.

5. Partial diecutting and embossing with dies.

Thank you for your patience to keep up with this rather large post. I hope you have enjoyed it all.

Now here for my last card.

I took some watercolor paper and stamped the flowers with antique linen distress ink. I used the no line watercoloring technique. After I finished I thought the flowers needed something more so I traced all the lines with a fine tip black marker althus creating a sketchy look. The leaves are stamped in black ink. I spattered some Coral distress ink onto the panel.

Now for the fun part I diecut the word HAPPY partial by placing just a part of the diecut between the plates of my cutting machine. I had to cut away some parts to create the line. After this diecutting I placed the die back and used a embossing pad and embossed the word happy into the paper.

I took a top folded Coral cardbase and placed some washi-tape ad both sides of the card. I adhered the watercolor paper onto some black cardstock and then placed it at the cardbase.

That's all folks, I had so much fun creating all these cards and I still have some ideas left. Remember that you can use all these techniques and ideas perfect with the newly released stamps and dies.

I have a big stash of cards now so I thank Julie & Shay for inviting me to be in the spotlight this month and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. It's been a blast!!!!!!!
