Hello again! So happy to be back for my second take at Winnie & Walter!

This time I have something a little bit different... not only because I’ve been admiring this style for some time, but also because I wanted to try it with products that weren’t designed having Mixed Media projects in mind in first place. I hope you don’t hate it... you may dislike though :).

I started this card by creating a woodgrain background with the outline stamp from Scenery: Into the Woods. I’m very happy with the realistic result, but the process was a bit time consuming. First I used Distress paint, then a cracking medium and more acrylic paint after it dried. Heat embossed using Clear Matt Dull EP, and then some Distress inks on top. I didn’t need the cracking medium, but I had just bought it, so... you know how it goes... :).

For the top piece I heat embossed the beautiful flower from In Bloom: Addie’s Garden using a gorgeous EP (Turkish Nights) and then colored with Inktense pencils and Distress inks. Then I made the blue flowers and embellished with more flowers, chipboard, splatters and micro beads. The paper and greeting are from designer papers.

For the second card I started by spraying Dylusions inks onto the Scenery: Pattern of the Rings Creative Screenings and literally “stamping” it. Then, before leave to dry for a few moments with the stencil on the paper, spritz some water in the back of the stencil allowing colors to move a little.
I stamped flowers from In Bloom: Lola’s Bouquet with Joni Andaya and stems from In Bloom: Addie’s Garden in light grey, and then watercolored with water soluble graphite to make it look like it was hand drawn. Stamped some leaves from In Bloom: Addie’s Garden and a sentiment from Winter Woodland. To finish off the card, I embellished with a few flowers, berries, chipboard, splatters and micro beads.

The third and last card of take two is a little bit different. I used untreated canvas for the background, inspired by Tammy Tutterow: Fabric Page Tutorial. I’ll leave the direct link on my blog.

I started by blending Distress inks through Scenery: the Leaf Effect Creative Screenings and then used with a script stamp and a script stencil, covering the whole piece with clear gesso after dried (this step was taken before applying embossing paste with the script stencil).

Cut out a frame with the smaller scalloped rectangle from Essentials: Noelle Cutaways and adhered to the “vellum forest” from Scenery: Into the Woods that I had previously stamped and white heat embossed. I adhered the two pieces of vellum in two different levels of foam tape. Stamped, colored with Distress inks and adhered the cute little bird from LS Exclusives: So Tweet with Evelin T Designs to the vellum.

For the finishing touches, I stamped and cut a few leaves from In Bloom: Lola’s Bouquet with Joni Andaya, die cut the word “to” from Essentials: Noelle Cutaways, stamped the sentiment from LS Exclusives: So Tweet with Evelin T Designs, and added a few embellishments.
