Without further ado, Cris....
Hello everyone! Are you ready for another round with me?
This week my attention goes toward something I really enjoy
doing - gift wrapping. I always put a little bit of my heart when wrapping
gifts to the ones I love... also enjoy making gifts.
So let’s get started, shall we?
My first project is very simple, in fact I don’t even need to
describe the process because it is self explanatory.
I’ll just tell you how I made the stamp. Die cut Flawless
Heart Cutaways from adhesive craft foam glued to a medium weight piece
of cardstock, cut two more hearts from the detailed die using cereal boxes and
adhere to the previous. In the end mounted the stamp onto a piece of very
sturdy cardboard and went to town stamping hearts. To finish off I die cut a
heart, both the detailed and solid, blending some Versa Magic ink, the same
used for stamping. Adhered the two hearts to a circle where I had previously
die cut two slits using one of the little dies from Essentials:
Noelle Cutaways. After everything was mounted, I used linen thread and some
black star sequins.
The second project involved tons of inks from sprays to Distress
paint and other acrylic paints, and my homemade gelli plate that didn’t resist
and completely torn apart in the end of the process... I guess I’ll have to
make another one :). For the little box, I used Scenery:
Persuasion Script Creative Screenings, Scenery:
Pattern of the Rings Creative Screenings, Scenery:
the Leaf Effect Creative Screenings and stamped a few flowers
from In
Bloom: Eva’s Favorite Flowers. After the box was mounted I colored a stripe
of cotton fabric to use as a bow. Stamped two little birds from LS
Exclusives: So Tweet with Evelin T Designs, watercolored and adhered to the
lid and ends of the bow, making it look like they are ready to open the gift
box.
Last but not least I made some packaging having kids in mind.
You have probably seen hundreds of gifts using plastic animals and other toys
on Pinterest, mine is just one more but with an important message. Besides it
is didactic, you’ll just see why. Now you’ll have to pretend that the scenario
is somewhere in Africa, taking the fauna into account... but you don’t have
cactus in savannas, so this might be the starting point to a research project
with the kid that will receive such gift, lol. It could, though.
To make the landscape I blended some Distress inks (sun) and
watercolored the tree and cactus from Kindness
with Evelin T Designs. After this, used the Goldie
Trim Cutaways to add some sand. Using kraft cardstock, stamped the
sentiment onto the banner from Essentials:
Noelle Cutaways and adhered to the wrapping paper. Stamped the little
sprig from LS
Exclusives: So Tweet with Evelin T Designs, watercolored and gave it to the
lion :).
I can’t believe next Saturday will be my last post, this month
is flying by so fast...
