Our December Leading Lady, Laurel Beard is back and better than ever!  If you missed her sensational debut you must see it...CLICK HERE.  Laurel has really packed in the wow-factor on this post and there is something special near the end. ;-)  Now it's Laurel's time to shine....

Hello there!!!! Laurel Beard here and I am back as Winnie and Walter's December Leading Lady! ACK! I still can't believe I get to say that. I have been a HUGE fan since they released their very first stamp set! Both Shay and Julie are fantastic peeps with a huge heart and their line is fantastic!!!! They had my heart when they release the first Big and Bold stamp set.. And it's just gotten better and better and better! I know, how can that be!!!! Well, I'll tell you! They've added stencils (creative screenings) and dies (cutaways) to their line!!!!! I KNOW, right??? You can check their newest release right here and your jaw will drop! Today I thought I would combine simple watercoloring techniques with some products from the release..... So let's get right to it as I have got FIVE projects to share with you today... The first one is the boldest of the bunch! I combined Scenery: Big Bang Flurries ,which is like the awesomest of awesome snowflake stamp sets with The Big, the Bold and the Merry! I heat embossed the sentiment in black, watercolored the background in with my Gansai watercolors and then inked one of the snowflake clusters from the Big Bang Flurries stamp set with a Pearl Paint Dabber and stamped right over the top of the watercolors... Combining the pearlescent snowflakes with the watercolored background made a gorgeous setting for the card.... And I am in love with that bold Christmas sentiment.

Next up, I thought I would create a cute Christmas tag using Happy Christmas. Not only is this stamp set full of amazing images AND sentiments in a gorgeous font, the name won me over! HAPPY CHRISTMAS! HAHA, I am HUGE Harry Potter fan and that's what they say so yea... This set is a winner just from the name, LOL! To start, I inked up the Classic Diagonal Creative Screening with some distress ink. I love the bold, thick lines of this stencil. For the watercolor portion of this card, I flicked some water onto the distress ink and voila, magic. Distress inks are formulated to react with water so you can only get this result if you use distress ink. The images were stamped directly onto the card and I stamped the hat from Stampets: The Gift as a finishing touch to this easy to mass produce tag... To add a little sparkle to the hat, I used some Wink of Stella Glitter Brush pen in red.

Next I thought I would show you a SUPER EASY watercolored card using a sentiment as a focal point. I stamped Joy to the World from The Big, the Bold and the Merry and heat set it with Liquid Platinum embossing powder. I watercolored the background panel using my Gansai watercolors and voila! A gorgeous sentiment is really all you need to create a great card I think.

As a bonus today, I've got TWO more projects to share with you accompanied with a VIDEO showcasing both cards! The first is a tag using Happy Christmas and Peerless Watercolors. Are the poinsettias gorgeous? There is a lot you can do with them. Color them, paper piece them or in my case, use watercolors and perfect pearls.

And the second card I have for you today is one of my favorites because it has lots of texture and shine! I used the Triangled Creative Screening (LOOOOVE this stencil) and partially covered it with some white embossing paste. After it was dry, I stamped the sentiment (did I mention I LOVE this stamp set? So versatile....) and heat set with Liquid Platinum embossing powder (yes, this is my favorite, lol).... THEN, I did some watercoloring with distress inks and perfect pearls.... This card is full and texture and sparkle and I just love the stencil and stamped images paired together!
