Julie's Birthday Bash Blog Hop

Birthday Banner

My friend and fellow co-owner, Julie Mogford, is celebrating her birthday today.  Julie is good-hearted, talented, humble, kind, funny, patient, loyal, respectful, diligent, sweet and understanding along with a myriad of other outstanding attributes!

She puts up with my endless ideas and wish for her to squeeze one more image or sentiment in.  She works tirelessly on the designs to make them just right and to create beautiful projects for the w&w blog.  All that on top of being a teacher and a jackie-of-all-trades concerning computers at her school by day!

Julie is a dedicated wife to her supportive husband, Davis, and loving mama to Walter the pup and very close to her parents, sister, brother-in-law and baby niece, Kamilla.  She loves our w&w family and delights in finding new projects to pin to our w&w boards on Pinterest.

I am lucky to call her a friend and my business partner!  I am so happy I can honor her on her birthday.

I thought to make her day a bit sweeter and special a blog hop was in order.  Our stellar Talent and friends, Suzanne Dahlberg and Laurie Willison, were so very wonderful to share in the celebration.  And a special thanks to Mayuri for designing the lovely blog hop banner!!  It is perfect.

I am starting off the blog hop with my card to Julie.

I chose to use one of the roses from The Big, the Bold and Extras and stamp it in milled lavender multiple times on a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock.  From there I smeared onto my craft sheet and painted in the roses with 1st victorian velvet 2nd dusty concord 3rd seedless preserves and last, picked raspberry using a water brush.  Then I smeared some of salty ocean on the craft sheet and sprayed it with Mister Huey's Calico Shine by Studio Calico and picked it up with the water brush and colored around the roses. I let the panel dry (it shimmers in real life although not in the pictures).  So I didn't cover much of the rose panel, I cut a thin strip of white cardstock and stamped the sentiment from Bubble Talk in dark purple.   The entire panel was added onto an A2 card base with dimensional foam adhesive.

Really pretty clean and simple, but the roses Julie designed are so pretty that the card doesn't need much to shine like Julie herself!
