First, happy belated Canada Day to our family to the north! And Happy 4th of July to our family here in the States. Have a safe and glorious weekend.
We've reached our last day of the Share the Love Week featuring Distress Inks by Ranger, but don't be sad because the celebration hasn't come to an end yet (and all the challenges are open until 11:55 p.m. CST Sunday, July 13, 2014)! Share the Love Week is a week-long love fest when we focus on a company or product we adore and show how smitten we are by using our featured love with w&w products!

Distress Inks are a fabulous product line brought to you by Ranger and the magnificent Tim Holtz. I don't think we can say enough honestly spectacular things about Ranger as a company of incredible, high quality products and Tim Holtz as an amazing creator, artist and educator. If you have a chance to take a class with Tim Holtz, do so because he is so successful for good reason. He truly is as awesome as he seems. Tim Holtz is the real deal.
It has been a delight to work with Tim Holtz Distress Products and we also want to thank Ranger for being so excellent as to donate 3 of the prizes for the challenges this week (all of which can be won by commenting and/or entering the Watercolor/Watercolour, Resist and Tag It! challenges until July 13, 2014 at 11:55 p.m. CST).
Thank you, thank you, Ranger for being all a creatively engaged and thoughtful company should be. We love you!

And make sure to show them some love too! Get inky!! This time around we want you...yes, you...to participate with us for a chance to win some awesome prizes.
Our last challenge is sure to be obvious to any Tim Holtz lover: Tag It! Incorporate a tag, Distress Ink and w&w products into your project.
Before we get to how you can participate to win, let's see what Shay and Gayatri, Kelly and Vanessa of The Talent have made.
Shay
This tag evolved after adding layers of colors and I am not sure you can see that at all. :-) In fact I used all but ombre on this single busy tag. I will try to be brief (have you figured out that I write too much?) for me in describing what I did.
1. I swooshed a manila tag in pools of Tim Holtz Distress Stain in first weathered wood, then broken china and last peeled pain sprayed with a little water on my craft sheet by Ranger.
2. Using butterfly Huey's Masks by Studio Calico I painted around them with broken china Distress Stain. Then I used a white crayon and colored inside the butterfly. After that I used more distress stain to fill in the background. I used the butterfly masks and traced with a black pen around the butterflies.
3. Next using the Tim Holtz Collection crocodile layering stencil I sprayed water. Then dried the tag a little and then put the stencil back and inked up sections of the background with pine needles and salty ocean Distress Ink with an ink blending tool.
4. I went around each butterfly with a grey Copic marker (C7) and a white Signo Uni-ball pen.
5. I decided I wanted some yellow and pink on the tag so I colored in the wax covered butterflies with Copics (Y18 + RV14) which gave them an interesting texture.
7. I flicked some drops of seafoam Heidi Swapp Color Shine and Glimmer Mist in patina.
8. I stamped the open rectangle from Scenery: Rectangled & Triangled 4 times on a scrap piece of white cardstock. Inside each rectangle I stamped a word all of which are from The Big, the Bold and Extras. With a water brush I picked up Distress Ink I had smeared on my craft sheet. Yellows were squeezed lemonade and mustard seed and the pinks were spun sugar and worn lipstick. I cut each out and edged them with black pen. I adhered the yellow rectangles directly on the tag and adhered the pink with dimensional foam adhesive.
9. A sprinkling of sequins is a must for me. I can't stop myself!
It's time for some truly lovely creations featuring tags by Gayatri, Kelly and Vanessa!
