November Color Combo with Heather H. (Challenge)

Good morning! Heather here stopping by this morning to share a new Color Combo Challenge with you! Thanks again to everyone who has played along so far - make sure and look for winners and a few featured players at the bottom of this post!

I knew I wanted to use some of the newest release, and decided I would pull out the new Warm Wishes to You set - that is free right now with qualifying $25 purchase. So cute and perfect for this time of year! 

And here is my color inspiration for this month - I loved the calming blues, and the fact that the inspiration even had a cozy mug in it:

I started off by stamping the cut in a soft blue ink, then used some soft grays to stamp in the "warm" and "wishes" words, and a chocolaty color to stamp the color in the cup. I added a little sentiment underneath from the new Tagged: Holiday Cheer stamp set, and the smallest heart from the Warm Wishes to You stamp set in blue to pull it all together.

I trimmed that panel down to fit over a blue scallop rectangle cut with the largest die from Essentials: Audrey Cutaways and did some machine stitching to adhere them together (it ended up a bit uneven thanks to my bobbin jamming...so excuse the messy part in the bottom right corner!). Finished off by layering on an even darker blue pattern paper, and adding a few snowflake sequins and (hard to see in the photos) some sparkly Nuvo drops.

Now - I have a few favorites from the last Color Challenge to feature! We had fewer players this month - but you all knocked it out of the park! 

First up - this soft and dreamy beauty from Rosali - that shimmer and shine and gorgeous layering - wow!

Next - this gorgeous layered floral card from Deepti! I love how happy this card is - just like the focal sentiment!

And finally, I love the vintage feel to this card by Maryam! The background is gorgeous - and the florals are perfect!

Happy Weekend, my friends! =) Here is my card for this week's Winnie & Walter Leading Lady post.

Ahh... Colorful stamped background is one of my favorite techniques for a clean and simple card, too!

All the flower and leaf stamps are from the In Bloom: Carolina's Florals with Angelica Suarez set. By stamping them all over the card base provided a colorful background without mass and bulk.

The "happy" word is cut from the In a Word: Happy Coordinating Cutaways with black shimmer cardstock for some subtle shine and "everything" is included in the In a Word: Happy stamp set.

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hello loverlies!  It is Shay here today with a very fun post.

Tracey McNeely has a wonderful event called The 25 Days of Christmas Tags in which for 25 days she features Christmas tags.  There are lots of guests and giveaways along the way!

One of the first things I learned to stamp was tags so this is near and dear to my heart.

We are just wrapping up our November 2017 Release today (products are available tonight, November 10, 2017 at 10:00 p.m. CST) and we happen to have some fun tag products releasing this Release.

I used the largest hexagon from Essentials: Josephine Cutaways to cut out 2 hexagons from colored cardstock.  For each I kept the two layers together with washi tape on the back.  Then I used some sheer shimmer spray with the Scenery: Rugby Stripe Creative Screenings to spray stripes of shimmer on the hexagons.  I let it dry and then shifted the stencil so the plastic was covering the shimmer stripes and used ink of a shade similar to the cardstock to add more depth to the stripes.  Next I used a black pen and used the stencil to trace the lines of the shimmer stripes. Over the lower shimmer stripe I stamped the sentiment from In Bloom: Debra's Poinsettia with Lydia Evans in black ink.

I then cut out In a Word: Believe Cutaway 4 times from white cardstock.  For two of them I sprayed with shimmer sprays and then inked up a bit with black.  I added one of the white believes over the sprayed believe slightly offsetting it to give it dimension when I adhered them together before I adhered them to the tags using foam dimensional adhesive.

To make the hexagons tag I added the tiny sweet little tag that comes with the Essentials: Josephine Cutaways.

Now you have some simple, bold and vibrant tags to add to gifts or to a project.

I created a couple of cards today that I hope you enjoy.  

For my first card I created an arctic scene.  

I cut out a shape for the ice and used an ink blending tool and Distress Ink to create deep water and then covered that with cardstock to create a pale blue sky which I flicked with water to further differentiate it from the water.  I stamped the narwhal (love this sweet guy!) and skating penguin from Winter Wishes with Evelin T Designs in black ink before coloring them in with colored pencils.  I also stamped the igloo and cute penguin in a large hat from Season's Tweetings with Evelin T Designs (they work so well with this set!) in black ink.  I cut out the images with the coordinating cutaways.

I then placed my narwhal in the water so it appeared to be jumping out to say "hi".  With foam dimensional adhesive I attached the little penguin on top of the igloo because of course he would sit atop it and the skating penguin outside the igloo on ice.  I added some skate marks in the ice with a colored pencil and stamped the sentiment from Winter Wishes with Evelin T Designs in black ink.  I added the scene to a panel of navy cardstock before adding it to a white cardstock card base.

I went a little messy with my next card because sometimes I just have fun playing with sprays, inks and embossing pastes.

First I ran a piece of white cardstock through my Cuttlebug with the Cover Model: Do You See What I See? Cutaway...I need to replace my cutting plates so it embossed rather than cut the image which I went with.  I used Distress Ink, water and sheer shimmer spray to add an ombre pink look.  I then added texture and softened some of the color with white embossing paste in some spots.

I stamped the sweet bear in present image in black ink from Sweet Holiday with Evelin T Designs and colored it in with colored pencils and then cut it out with the coordinating cutaway.

I cut out several hexagons out of white cardstock from Essentials: Josephine Cutaways.  I attached the bear to the larger solid hexagon and then attached the solid hexagon with foam dimensional adhesive and the outline hexagon slightly askew.  I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in black ink onto the smaller hexagon and then adhered it with foam dimensional adhesive.

Lastly, I added some bling and puffy stickers in green.

It's all about florals today and I have a couple of cards for you.

I started by creating backgrounds on panels of white cardstock with Scenery: Buffalo Check Creative Screenings and then I used both Scenery: Ticking Stripe Creative Screenings and Scenery: Grand Trellis Creative Screenings and white embossing paste.  I let them dry and then flicked gold shimmer paint on them.  I set aside to dry for a while.

I stamped the large solid poinsettia in red 5 times and the detail and center in a darker red from In Bloom: Debra's Poinsettia with Lydia Evans and cut it out using the coordinating die.  I also stamped the large leaf 7 times in green and detail in darker green and cut it out using the coordinating die.  I also stamped out the greenery twice from In Bloom: Victoria's Very Merry Flowers with Lydia Evans and cut it out using coordinating die. 

I cut out the "merry" twice from In a Word: Merry Coordinating Cutaways from white cardstock and likewise cut out the scalloped frame from In a Word: Holiday Tiles Cutaways and stamped "christmas" in red from In Bloom: Victoria's Very Merry Flowers with Lydia Evans.   I also cut out the flag tag die from Tagged: Holiday Cheer Cutaways and stamped the same "christmas".  I adhered the cards together with foam dimensional adhesive.  I added some gold glitter enamel dots as a final embellishment.
