MY PROJECT

First, I just wanted to say what a privilege it is to celebrate and participate in this blog hop honoring Rubeena's 4th Crafting Anniversary.  Rubeena is not only superlatively talented, but incredibly generous, dedicated, friendly and all-round an awesome sweetheart of a person.   What a treat to commemorate her and her contributions to our crafting community!

shay_IMG_4364

So I thought I would create a pretty floral card, but I somehow stamped the wrong sentiment. lol  Do you ever do this?  I meant to stamp "so happy for you", but I accidentally stamped "to you" rather than "for you" so I had to change the sentiment so it will be a birthday card.  Fiddlesticks!  We can pretend I meant to do that, but we both know better.

Most of this card is stamped using In Bloom: Carolina's Florals with Angelica Suarez with the notable exception of the frame which is from Framed with Evelin T Designs.  I used Catherine Pooler Designs Inks in black jack for all the outline flowers and leaves and icing on the cake for the frame.  For the solid layer of the flowers I used Distress Oxide Inks in abandoned coral and fossilized amber and the leaves are cracked pistachio and the "happy" in broken china.  I then cut them all out using In Bloom: Carolina's Florals with Angelica Suarez Cutaways.

I stamped the frame and then colored it in with watered down black jack.  I then arranged the flowers and leaves on two corners of the frame and glued them on.  I figured out the placement of the happy and then stamped the supporting wrong revised sentiments in black jack in the frame.  I glued on the "happy".

On the actual card base I stamped the strawberry seeds from the stamp set in broken china in a sort of meandering wave across the front and flicked yellow spray in the same diagonal direction.

I then adhered the frame to the card base with foam dimensional adhesive.  Pretty simple card.

That's it for me, but there are so many much more marvelous cards to behold by the jaw-droppingly talented people after me.  Your next stop is the incredible Clearly Besotted Blog!!

Happy hopping,
Shay.

  19. LOL. I would say I make errors on at least half my cards and have to adapt! This morning it was laying my card onto some watercolor I had left on one of my blocks! No worries, I just added a piece of designer paper inside the card! I think this is the fun of crafting... being able to be spontaneous and creative with our designs! I love the way your floral card turned out and someone will love it for their birthday!

  95. Thanks for sharing your story and card.
I think it is funny and challenging to find another way of making the card, when I make mistakes. Then I'm the only one knowing about the error and the card ends up as something different than intended. But that's the fun in all this, I think.
I really like the card. Even if you wanted it with another saying in the first place.

    ReplyDelete
