Although I have been crafting and stamping for ages I am no expert.  That said you never ever need to be an expert to have fun and make great projects.  Let me show you!

I went pretty simple today because these products make it easy!  Of course like all w&w products, they really are versatile and you can get as fancy or as simple as you prefer (which you will see when looking at the awesome inspiration which follows my cards).

By the way, all the inks I used today are Tim Holtz Distress Ink.

Card No. 1

True story: this was a very simple card that I really liked, but my hand slipped and the stamp fell onto my card and I got an extra center on one of the flowers.  I thought oh well I can restamp this which I did, but I just didn't like the other ones I did as much as the original.  In the end, I decided to go with the original...mistake and all.  With the mistake though meant the design had to be less clean and simple (I tried--I really did!).

I stamped the panel with the large 9 petal solid stamp in squeezed lemonade and fossilized amber, stamped with the rounded spiral in aged mahogany and the larger dotted center in weather wood.  I ended up using embossing paste with the Scenery: Pattern of the Rings Creative Screenings on part of the card front (top left and bottom right corners) especially over the boo boo.  I then added some drops of gold and a very light spray of Heidi Swapp's Color Shine in gold.  This was semi successful as the gold reacted differently with the embossing paste.  I added the In a Word: Kisses Cutaway from grey cardstock.  Last were some metallic gold sequins and star sequins.

Card No. 2

I picked out the smaller spiral stamp from the In Bloom: Eva's Favorite Flowers and stamped it randomly in picked raspberry and then colored them in with watered down picked raspberry and added a dot of Stickles in crystal to the centers.  I set the panel aside overnight.  I used clear ZIG Wink of Stella over each flower for more needed shimmer.  I then cut out a rectangle of the panel using a cutaway premiering tomorrow.  I stamped the sentiment from Sparkle on a card base using spun sugar and picked raspberry having used the pink floral rectangles to determine placement.  To each of the floral rectangles I added a strip of the link or chain cutaway from Goldie Trim Cutaways behind it for a little added detail.  I then added the floral rectangles to the card base with foam dimensional adhesive.

Card No. 3

In Bloom: Eva's Favorite Flowers is perfect for creating custom backgrounds and the options are really endless.  I used the tulip looking stamp and went around rotating it to make bigger flowers alternating between peacock feathers and mermaid lagoon.  The centers are stamped with the fun ray-like stamp using fossilized amber and mustard seed and then I filled in the white space with the larger circle stamp in mustard seed and the smaller circle stamp in fossilized amber.  Finished this off with a strip of cardstock adhered with foam dimensional adhesive and stamped with a special stamp set premiering tomorrow in fossilized amber and peacock feathers.  Last are metallic gold sequins added to the centers of the flowers and this card is done!

In Bloom: Eva's Favorite Flowers was originally part of the first ever Stamp of Approval Box by Catherine Pooler and we are now releasing it so everyone can have fun with these fresh and funky flowers!

We were incredibly inspired by Jennifer McGuire (who is an awesome inspiration for living daily with kindness) and her Share Handmade Kindness Challenge and created a stamp set that has fun trees and the incredible handwriting of Evelin T Designs.  We think you will the love the whimsy and versatility of Kindness with Evelin T Designs as much as we do and it certainly will work well with the next stamp set we are previewing!

If you loved Happiest of Holidays with Evelin T Designs, you are going to go wild for LS Exclusives: So Tweet with Evelin T Designs.  This stamp set came from the inspiration of our very own Laura Sterckx (thus the LS Exclusives in the name) and we worked with Evelin T Designs to bring it to life.  It is so very tweet! 

Scenery: Into the Woods is for all of you fellow lovers of woodgrain and woods.  With a positive and negative of two designs you won't believe how much usage you will have for this stamp set!

w&w Belated 2nd Birthday Bash | Special Guest Star Laurie Willison

Our last Belated 2nd Birthday Bash Special Guest Star post could not be with a more appropriate artist than our dear friend Laurie Willison.  Laurie is incredibly sweet, generous of spirit, supportive and such a lovely person not to mention having clean and simple skills honed to perfection!   It makes our 2nd birthday all the sweeter to have her celebrate with us.

Hey there crafty friends!  I am so excited to be joining the girls at Winnie and Walter today!  I have a card to share for Heather H's challenge.  It's all about the Watercolor and Gold.

I am generally a very CAS stamper.  I like a quick and simple card, one layer, all the white....but lately I have been inspired by all the watercoloring I have seen.  I have loved playing around with water and my Peerless watercolors to see what I can create.

For this card I used the Cover Model: The Leaf Effect Cutaway die to create the background.  First, I added in some water colors just to the center of the paper.  I cut it out with the cover die and added it to a card base.  For the gold, I took the In a Word: Hello Cutaway die, and cut out it with some DCWV Gold glitter card stock.  I stared at the card forever trying to figure out what else it needed, so before I added in the gold sentiment, I took more pinkish purple watercolor and flicked it across the card.  I cut the Hello die out of fun foam as well, to give the sentiment some dimension.  After I added that to the card front, I decided I it was finished!

February Leading Lady Emily Leiphart | Take Three

Hello, hello! It's Emily here and I'm back with my third Leading Lady post!! Every Saturday this month, I'll be sharing projects with a weekly theme. Today's theme is monochromatic versus colourful. Both cards use the exact same products!

The monochromatic card features five Winnie & Walter dies and one stamp set in shades of white, greys and black. Across the middle of the Essentials: Katharine Cutaways die cut, I dry embossed with the Lulu Fringe Cutaway.

The In a Word: Hello die was sponged with three distress inks, splattered with water and misted with shine spray, then stamped with the dots from the Scenery: Big Bang Confetti stamp set. The In Bloom: Paulina's Greenery Cutaways wreath was layered with vellum and linen white cardstock.

This colourful version features the same six products as the monochromatic version, just in different formulations. Here, the Lulu Fringe Cutaway is used in its originally intended format on the edges of the Essentials: Katharine Cutaways frames.

In Bloom: Paulina's Greenery Cutaways was dry embossed as well as used as accents on the ends of the sentiment that uses In a Word: Hello Cutaway, as well as The Big, the Bold and the Happy Cutaways. The dots from Scenery: Big Bang Confetti were heat embossed with silver glitter embossing powder.

w&w Belated 2nd Birthday Bash | Special Guest Star Rebecca Luminarias Part Deux

Hello!  Rebecca Luminarias back for a second post as part of the 2nd Annual Belated Birthday Bash!  Since it's Walter & Winnie's (belated) birthday, I thought some special gift wrap would be appropriate.

I didn't want to use just any wrapping paper; I wanted to make own with some of W&W's stamps.  I was looking for a simple, modern design, and with a couple of fresh stamps and some bright, fun ink colors, I ended up with these cute packages.

I gathered 3 gift boxes (all measure 5x7) and a stack of legal size plain white copy paper.  That's right--you don't need anything fancy for this project!  Then I stamped my image repeatedly, covering the paper in a minimal pattern.  I started with the cactus image from one of the new releases (really cute, right?) and stamped it in Mint Hint (Studio Calico) and Cameo Coral from Stamping' Up!  The other image I used is the antlers from Comfort + Joy, which I stamped in Sunny Day (also SC).

I made a few sheets because it was pretty easy and I loved the outcome.  It only took me a couple of minutes to make each sheet (and I'm not a great stamper!).  I eyeballed the placement because my goal was quick and easy, not painstaking and time-consuming so I didn't want to have to draw rows and grids of pencil lines.  Once the package is wrapped and decorated, it's difficult to tell that all the images are not perfectly aligned anyhow.

Since it's just copy paper, it's pretty cheap gift wrap, too, considering a roll of quality stuff can run $7-$15 and higher!  I did double wrap the box, though, first wrapping it in a sheet of plain white paper and then again with my stamped sheet.  Copy paper isn't the heaviest and I wanted to get a clean white look.

Then it was a matter of topping off each present, which I also wanted to keep simple so as not to completely overshadow the cute paper I made.  Trim & tags, and a couple of die cuts were about the extent of the embellishing.  I did use a yellow tassel here, but it was simply to have a bold yellow accent.

'A year full of...' is another new release stamp.  It's a longer sentiment that I taped off after the 'of' so I could create my own 'a year full of happy' with the die cut from The Big, the Bold & the Happy Cutaways.  (*This will make more sense when you see the new release!)

Some mint fabric makes a quick tie and more simplicity equals a trio of easy tags.  The gold glitter tag is a Essentials: Katharine Cutaways; the deer silhouette and 'good tidings' are more images from Comfort + Joy.  Again I taped off the words to create the layout I needed so that 'good tidings' would fit on the bitty tag, which measures only 3/4" in width.  I adore those tiny sayings!

Lastly, bold yellow striped ribbon against the coral succulent paper is so pretty!  I used a gold triangle tag from my stash and paired it with the love die cut from TBTB&TH cutaway, as well as the same succulent stamped in mint.  Stamped underneath, 'from all of us' makes a clean finishing touch.  Each package is different, but has similar elements.

And there's another easy project in the books!  Luckily, it's almost new release time so you don't have to wait too much longer to see what the cactus stamp is all about--it's a really cute set and I love its Pop Art feel, especially as a part of my minimalist white wrapping paper.
