Our June Leading Lady, Michele Ferguson, is back for her triumphant third performance! If you missed her smashing debut you must see it...CLICK HERE or her oh so tweet second performance CLICK HERE. Today Michele takes on dapper and dashing for dad!
Without further ado, Michele....
Each year, as Father's Day approaches, I begin to miss my own Dad a bit more than usual. So, from me and Winnie & Walter: an Ode to Dad!
Many moons ago, there was a trend to 'tie a yellow ribbon' around a tree ... a very sweet way to say you're missed. Here I've used Scenery: Into the Woods for my tree, and Take a Bow Cutaways for the tails to my Home-made In a Word ribbon! Can you find the hidden little heart?
That
little star carries you right to the inside sentiment:
"...
is where our hearts meet! I'm missing you today."
My Dad was a big fan of hugs and kisses - I am,
too! The paper variety get used often with In
a Word: Kisses and The
Big, the Bold and Friends Cutaways. Take a Bow makes another
appearance - this time the medium sized one.
I've
used papers from a favorite paper pack from Kaisercraft: Shine Bright
For my final card today, I created a special birthday
card for the father of a friend who is celebrating his 80th birthday at the end
of the month. Bless him, he still golfs every chance he can get!
Using Flawless
Diamond Cutaways, I've made the perfect 'golf ball' for his card, and used
another of those Bow tails for the perfect tee ... be sure you read
the inside sentiment- hopefully you'll smile.
Inside:
"You
shine like a diamond, even when you're in 'the rough!'
[d.a.d. alphas are die cuts from my stash of
home-made thickers]
It
is a bit hard to see, but I've embossed
to
add a little dimpled pattern to the base panel...
like a golf ball? tap, tap ... is this thing on? =]
I hope you have the pleasure of spending a day with your own Dad on Father's Day. How about sharing an extra hug for me, please? and thanks so much for stopping over to my blog ... there could be a gift card in your future!!
=] Michele
