MY PROJECT

First, I just wanted to say what a privilege it is to celebrate and participate in this blog hop honoring Rubeena's 4th Crafting Anniversary.  Rubeena is not only superlatively talented, but incredibly generous, dedicated, friendly and all-round an awesome sweetheart of a person.   What a treat to commemorate her and her contributions to our crafting community!

So I thought I would create a pretty floral card, but I somehow stamped the wrong sentiment. lol  Do you ever do this?  I meant to stamp "so happy for you", but I accidentally stamped "to you" rather than "for you" so I had to change the sentiment so it will be a birthday card.  Fiddlesticks!  We can pretend I meant to do that, but we both know better.

Most of this card is stamped using In Bloom: Carolina's Florals with Angelica Suarez with the notable exception of the frame which is from Framed with Evelin T Designs.  I used Catherine Pooler Designs Inks in black jack for all the outline flowers and leaves and icing on the cake for the frame.  For the solid layer of the flowers I used Distress Oxide Inks in abandoned coral and fossilized amber and the leaves are cracked pistachio and the "happy" in broken china.  I then cut them all out using In Bloom: Carolina's Florals with Angelica Suarez Cutaways.

I stamped the frame and then colored it in with watered down black jack.  I then arranged the flowers and leaves on two corners of the frame and glued them on.  I figured out the placement of the happy and then stamped the supporting wrong revised sentiments in black jack in the frame.  I glued on the "happy".

On the actual card base I stamped the strawberry seeds from the stamp set in broken china in a sort of meandering wave across the front and flicked yellow spray in the same diagonal direction.

I then adhered the frame to the card base with foam dimensional adhesive.  Pretty simple card.

That's it for me, but there are so many much more marvelous cards to behold by the jaw-droppingly talented people after me.  Your next stop is the incredible Clearly Besotted Blog!!

Happy hopping,
Shay.

w&w 4th Birthday Bash | Special Guest Star Rubeena Ianigro

rubeenaianigro

Today's special guest star, Rubeena Ianigro, is no stranger to Winnie & Walter as she was our April 2016 Leading Lady and her work is always a treat!  Rubeena is also an incredibly generous, welcoming and giving person with a huge amount of talent and skill. Please give her a warm w&w welcome!

Hello, friends! I am happy to be joining the winnie & walter 4th Birthday Bash this month as a Special Guest Star. Shay is one of the sweetest, most generous people in the craft industry and I had the honor of meeting her at Creativation last month! I have two projects to share with you today that represent my style the best.

Loose watercoloring is very relaxing. I have so much fun working with greenery so I decided to play with In Bloom: Renee's Leaves for my first card. I stamped an assortment of the stamps on watercolor paper using a waterproof black ink pad. Then, I used my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors to color. I added black splatters and fussy cut the images. For the card base, I stamped one of the line borders from Scenery: Stripes 2 on the far left edge and then added black splatters to the base. I arranged all the leaves first using glue dots. I finished the card off by adding the die-cut sentiment (which was cut in gold glitter, black, and white cardstock layers) from In a Word: Thanks Cutaway. This card shows all the things I love when it comes to creating: layers, black and white stripes, splatters, bold colors, die-cut words, and gold glitter! For this card, I incorporated the Die Challenge with Lydia.

For my next card, I continued watercoloring but focused on using Party On with Evelin T Designs. I also enjoy one-layer cards. I stamped the four critters on watercolor paper using the same waterproof black ink pad and masked off each one before stamping the next. Then I colored loosely with my watercolor palette. Once everything dried, I stamped the beautiful sentiment from the same set and then taped the finished piece to my white cardbase. So fun and simple! For this card, I incorporated the Four Challenge with Shay since I used all four critters.

Thank you so much for having me here and for everyone who stops by and leaves us love. We really appreciate the support. I hope you were inspired by my work, and I can't wait to see what everyone does with winnie & walter's products. Have a great week!

Ruby's shower
Welcome!  Many of you came from the always excellent Emily Leiphart's blog and if you are just stumbling up on this blog hop please continue reading for tons of beautiful inspiration and prizes. :-)

There is nothing better than celebrating an incredible person and a wondrous event.  Ruby (now Rubeena Ianigro formerly known as Rubeena Naz) just got married and Amy Tsuruta (first stop on the blog hop too) organized a special blog hop to commemorate the occasion and Ruby herself.  Anyone who knows Ruby knows her as a generous person who gives of her time, effort and talents.  I feel very fortunate to be able to participate in honoring such a beautiful person inside and out.

Oh and make sure to comment throughout the hop for prizes from these companies:

Now onto the card I created for Ruby.

shay_IMG_4046

I was inspired by cake in creating this card.  I used embossing paste and one of the roses and the single leaf from Duo: The Big, the Bold and Extras Creative Screenings.  On the white cardstock panel cut with the largest scallop rectangle layer from Essentials: Audrey Cutaways I placed the leaf three times and spread the embossing paste over it like frosting.  On a separate sheet of cardstock I placed the rose and spread the embossing paste that I mixed with a little pink ink over the rose.  Once dry I cut it out and placed it on the scallop panel.  I added the die cut "congrats" from The Big, the Bold and You Cutaways over the rose.  I adhered the scalloped panel with foam dimensional adhesive to a card base covered with patterned paper from American Crafts Valentine collection 6x6 paper pad.  I love the little bit of bold color and pattern behind the soft white and pale pink.

Last I sprinkled a generous amount of sparkly gems because it's for a wedding and Ruby deserves some bling. :-)

Your last stop is with the magnificent Miriam Prantner!
