Hi
everyone!
This
is Hussena here. I’m from India and I’m a SAHM to two lovely kids. I have
always been into Arts & Crafts for as long as I can remember, but seriously
took up cardmaking as a hobby since 5 years now. I also love to create 3D
projects and work on altered items, but my first love will always be
cardmaking. You can view more of my work on my blog Quill and Punch Works. I
have quite recently taken up stamping as till date I was into making layered,
shabby cards using dies as my main focal. I recently came across Winnie and
Walter products and I totally fell in love with their bold sentiments which are
so unique and can dress up any card very beautifully.
I
can't tell you how thrilled I was to have received a mail from Shay, inviting
me for this spotlight feature. Definitely did a little happy dance. :)
Today
I have two cards and a tag to share. As this month's them is 'In Bloom', I really had a lot of fun playing
with the beautiful flower stamps. I think my all time favorite of all the
Winnie and Walter stamp sets has to be 'The Big, the Bold and Extras'.
The possibilities with this stamp set are endless and I'm so happy W & W
has come out with its matching Cutaways, and Creative Screening as well.
My
first card uses three stamp sets from W & W. I have stamped and clear
embossed the flowers and leaves from The Big, the Bold and Extras then
have watercolored the flowers using Picked Raspberry Distress ink and the
leaves using Shabby Shutters and Crushed Olive Distress inks. The circle frame
that you see was created from the oval frame stamp from the The WriteStuff: Leave it to Mom stamp set. I just altered the shape of
the frame from oval to circle. It's pretty easy to do this with these high
quality, photopolymer stamps. I stamped and embossed it using Liquid Platinum
embossing powder from Ranger. The silhouette figure also was stamped and fussy
cut and placed on the banner which is from The Big, the Bold and Extras. The sentiment is from The Big, Bold and Party stamp set.I
finished off the card using some pretty sequins from the W & W Birthday
Bash Sequins Mix from PPP.
For
my second card, I have created my background using the Scenery: Triangled Creative Screenings by blending different shades of Distress inks to create a soft
background and then added a few black paint spatters. The sentiment has
been stamped and cut from The Big, Bold and Party stamp set and mounted
on the card base using foam dots. The flowers and the leaves have been stamped
using different pigment inks and fussy cut then, stuck on the card using some
foam dots and they're from The Write Stuff: Leave it to Mom stamp
set. This set has some really pretty small stamps included besides the
silhouette and the frame. I have added tiny rhinestones in the centre of the
flowers and added a strip cut from some gold glitter paper. I finished off the
card by adding a black diagonal stamped strip.
For
my tag, I have stamped the flower and the leaves from The Big, the Bold and Extras. The foliage leaves are from The Write Stuff: Leave it to Mom
stamp set. The little heart has been stamped and cut from the
Sugar Rush set and given a coat of Clear Wink of Stella brush pen. This tag
came together in no time and I was happy with the end result.
Thank
you so much once again Julie & Shay for giving me this opportunity. I had a
blast creating with W & W goodies :D
I loved working on my cards and tag I hope you all like my work. I would love to know your views on it.
