May Leading Lady Anita in France | Take Three

Our May Leading Lady, Anita in France returns for her triumphant third performance!  If you missed her smashing debut you must see it...CLICK HERE or second performance showing her softer, floral side CLICK HERE.  For today's performance Anita takes on a single product and shows her ingenuity, versatility and range!

Without further ado, Anita in France....

Thanks for all your visits and lovely comments on my Debut and Take 2 performances here at Winnie & Walter … I’m thrilled to be back today to show you some more ways of bringing their wonderful Cutaways and stamps to life!  Winnie & Walter‘s latest release (April/May) featured their first Cover Model … Multifaceted Cutaway … a gorgeous, graphic, geometric design that I fell in love with!  So, this week, I’m doing a ‘One Cutaway, Three Ways’ feature!

First on stage, graphic colour blocks …

The background colour blocks are paint chips, sliced into rectangles, arranged in an ombré-ish fashion and adhered flat to the base card.  I cut Multifaceted twice and layered them onto the colour blocks … the first one way up, the second the opposite way, so that all those yummy graphic lines criss crossed over one another.  The sentiment is from The Big, The Bold & The Happy, embossed in white on a hand cut black banner, and popped up on foam dots.  I went with blocks and yellows/oranges here … but a change of background colours and/or shapes would give a completely different look … how about broad stamped stripes in cool blues, a sponged soft pink ombré, or perhaps crisp, bold black and white with luscious gold overlays … oh the possibilties!

Here’s something a little more delicate … white on white with a touch of colour …

See the shine and dimension on this Multifaceted Cutaway?  After it was cut, I coated it in Versamark and heat embossed it in white … twice … to give it that raised look.  It was adhered to the base card just at the intersections of the lines as I wanted there to be a little movement in it.  The butterflies are from Essentials: Audrey Cutaways, cut from Promarker-coloured vellum and dressed with a single gem each.  They’re highly co-ordinated … not just landing on the intersections, but arranging themselves by colour, and then making sure they sweep up the card in a lovely swoosh!  What choreography!  The sentiment is again from The Big, The Bold and The Happy, this time the Cutaway, die cut and double heat embossed in liquid platinum.   Just think of the die cuts you could use in a similar way to the butterflies … hearts, flowers, leaves, birds … maybe even letters to spell out a name!

For my final card I’ve gone shimmery and shiny … and shaker-y …

Here, I cut Multifaceted six times, stacked five together, added a layer of acetate and then topped it off with the sixth.  The ‘sandwich’ was turned upside down and a mixture of aqua and silver seed beads plus some tiny silver sequins were poured into some of the sections.  It was pretty random … I just avoided having two filled sections next to one another.  A turqoise card panel was adhered to the back of the ‘sandwich’ and the whole thing was mounted on a white card base.  The sentiment is from The Big, The Bold and Friends, cut once in silver and once in teal … layered together and slightly offset to give some definition to that chrome like shine!

I experimented with different types of adhesive for these cards … and found that for fixing layers together on the first and third ones, a Zig Glue Pen worked a treat.  It was easy to quickly run the pen along the lines of the Cutaway and once the layers were glued together, it took just a short stay under a heavy book to keep them that way.  As the Cutaway on the butterfly card was only partly adhered, it needed a stronger glue … Ranger Multi Medium Matte was perfect … a dab of it on all the intersections, plus a moment or two under the heavy book was enough to keep it all secure.

I’ve had tons of fun playing with this new Cover Model … and hope you’ve enjoyed seeing just a few of it’s possibilites!
