Hi there! Laurel Beard here with my LAST week as the December Leading Lady! My heart is sad as I type this post but happy that I had the opportunity to share some of my love of Winnie and Walter with you all! They truly are an amazing company run by some awesome peeps! Today I thought I would share three cards that are clean and simple! Just some stamping and maybe a little bit of technique. This card uses the
Happy Christmas stamp set and
Scenery: Big Bang Flurries. These two stamps are gorgeous on their own and when you combine them, you've got gold!
I sprayed
a sparkle spray over the top and this card just glistens. See???? Oh, that poinsettia heat embossed onto the vellum? Delicious.
My next card uses a fun color scheme, one of my favorites and pairs an embossing paste technique with this fantastic stencil,
the Classic Diagonal Creative Screening. I applied some tinted
crackle embossing paste (to tint I added a squish of teal acrylic paint and mixed the two together) to the stencil and allowed to dry. It was so fun to watch it dry and form all those little cracks and this stencil is perfect because it gives you such wide stripes, so perfect for this technique. And seeing as how I didn't get enough of the
Big Bang Flurries stamp set, I used it again here to create a snowflaked background for my little gingerbread! This little guy is from the
Eat, Drink Gingerbread stamp set as is the little peppermint candy! Yum, now I want some... Anywho, I stamped him out and watercolored him in using my
Inktense watercolored pencils... And the sentiment is from the
Winter Woodland stamp set.
I had to share a closer look at that crackled background! Isn't it gorgeous? I encourage you to check out their entire creative screenings line! Their stencils are fab!
And lastly, a simple one layered card (except I cheated and added some alpha stickers, tsk tsk) using some masking... I couldn't resist using the deer from the
Happy Christmas stamp set again. I know, I know! I masked off the edges and inked up the background using distress paints. Then using the
Big Bang Circle Creative Screening, I created some snowflakes by using some embossing paste with the stencil.. I love one layer cards with lots of dimension and pairing the stamps with the stencils is a great way to achieve that!
