Don’t you just love getting a card in the mail? I know I do!
This set plays a little with the concept of sending valentines and
keeping love letters, and so much more.
I wanted to keep this first card more streamlined. The background is stamped with the closed envelope on the diagonal using
a pale blue chalk ink. The main image
has 2 sentiments stacked along with the heart chain all above another
envelope. Do you notice how the
sentiments are all the same length? And
any of them could fit perfectly inside the open arrow? And all of this is within the size of the
envelope? Are you getting the
picture? Cool, right? Hee Hee!!!
I stamped the sentiments and the little heart in various
shades of pink. The envelope and the
arrow are both stamped and embossed black.
I used a little stickles to accent all of the hearts on the card. They are a little more shimmery in real life. I love my stickles!!!!
The Blush Shine spray from Heidi Swapp was calling to me in
my studio, and I just needed to use it on a Valentine card, and I think it
looks so sweet and shimmery. I’ve been
enjoying all of the confetti over the last couple of days, and just had to try
another confetti background, but I added the small heart from this set, and the
small heart from tomorrow’s The Write Stuff: Love Story set. All of the confetti elements are in shades of pink.
Next I added the paper heart chain cut from our coordinating
cut files for the You’ve Got Love Mail stamp set. Shay and I designed the little bow in this
set to work along with the envelope stamp as a fitting closure to a stack of
love letters. I stamped the first
envelope and then masked it, and then stamped it twice more. I stamped the bow, fussy cut and then added
it to the envelopes, which are on foam dots. So Sweet!
The silver glitter Thickers from American Crafts are so stinkin’ cute that I
had to have them on this card, and then added the love sentiment in
black above. I may just have to give this card to my
husband to give to me for Valentine’s Day!!!
Shay
When I was growing up one of my favorite crafts was making stationary. With You've Got Love Mail I can pretty up mail just like when I was little and that makes me happy to the tips of my fingers. I hope you too will find happiness stamping with this set!
I started out with a clean and simple card. I stamped the closed envelope on a piece of patterned paper from Crate Paper's Fourteen 6x6 paper pad in charcoal. Next, I used Versamark to stamp the dove and embossed it in gold on a piece of patterned paper from Crate Paper's Maggie Holmes 6x6 paper pad. To create a mirror image of the dove I stamped the dove onto a solid rubber stamp and stamped that image onto the same patterned paper. And it worked!! I stamped the seal and cancellation stripes on the card and envelope. I then added the envelope and doves with dimensional foam adhesive.
I wanted to do a valentine's card that could be given to a guy or anyone for that matter. Kelly's card from the Premiere of The Big, the Bold, and the Happy inspired this color scheme. I stamped the script heart three times in pale tomato Mid-tone Shadow Ink by Hero Arts (one of my favorite ink colors) and then framed the middle heart with the open arrow. It fits together quite nicely! Inside the opening I stamped the xoxo in Versamark and embossed it in silver (shocking...no gold this time). I stamped the 14 circle in Versamark and embossed it in charcoal. I easily punched the 14 circle out with a 3/4" circle punch. I added it to the panel along with some enamel dots by My Mind's Eye. I adhered panels of grey cardstock with dimensional foam adhesive over the heart panel.
This card is all about stamping. You may notice how the sentiments and images are similar if not the same length. Crazily enough Julie and I planned the stamps that way! I stamped the sentiments, open arrow and outline long heart strip with Mid-tone Shadow Inks by Hero Arts. There are 3 more heart strips in this set that can be used to create borders, backgrounds or just as little accents. I adhered the panel on a card base and then after a friendly suggestion I added Stickles in some of the hearts (I think the shimmer looks better in person).
