Here comes the boom..Big Bang Confetti style. We like to call our background sets Scenery and our first ever is Scenery: Big Bang Confetti. We wanted a set that could be used to sprinkle stars and circles to cover your project or to use in a more measured way. This set will be one you can reach for again and again when you need that extra little touch. More or less, we have you covered.

Birthday cards for men are always a challenge for me, especially when they are for my husband. And, halfway through this card, I remembered that I had made him a card with stars in the past. This one is very different though. It’s a happy card for sure.
I started with stamping the star confetti radiating out from the lower left hand corner and embossing with this awesome Egyptian Gold embossing powder. I added a few more single stars after the card was finished to fill in a few holes in the design. I added a strip of patterned paper to the left hand side to start the color theme and found coordinating cardstock in my stash to create the banners and stars, cut with my Cameo (love my Cameo!).
To add a starry background, I opened the White Shine spray by Heidi Swapp and flicked the end of the spray nozzle over the card stock to get sprinkled
droplets. I dried these with a heat gun
and then added the cut out to the front of the card using black foam
adhesive. I don’t use these often, but
they were the perfect choice for this card with the black card base. I added the Happy Birthday sentiment inside
the card with the Zig 2 Way Glue.
The final accents were using the Big Bang Confetti retro star
singles stamped with Versamark and embossed in silver to give it just a little
something extra to the front and inside of the card. Those stars are my *fave*! I wonder if Melissa Stinson would like this card???

I decided to challenge myself by only using Scenery: Big Bang Confetti without any other stamp set. I really wanted to see how this stamp set can work with the obscene amount of stuff overflowing in my studio.
I went with something very white for my first card. There is something so pretty about a white card, don't you think? The one little ticket is from January's Simon Says Stamp Card Kit and under the ticket I added a strip of washi. My favorite bit of the card is the circles from Scenery: Big Bang Confetti. I concentrated the stamping to the top of the banner and tried to stamp less as I went down. For added visual appeal I added some Stickles to a few of the circles.
I had visions for this type of card for weeks, maybe even months. Embossing powder and this stamp set are a match made in heaven. I love gold right now so I chose to emboss the stars in gold and then pulled out my Distress Inks and ink blending tools. I blended the heck out of this panel and I love the ombre effect. To let the background be the star (haha!) I used a Papertrey Ink tag die and then cut out the thanks using a die from Studio Calico.
I have to admit this is a total card lift from an incomplete card I had sitting in my studio. I often love to add a little stamping to add color and texture to a layer. This stamp set is perfect for that. I used both the solid and outline sci fi stars (that's how Julie and I refer to it) to do just that. I also pulled out my Studio Calico Marks & Co Card Kit for the patterned paper and used a tag and die cut from the older, but still awesome Amy Tangerine Sketchbook die cuts (thankfully crafting products don't expire like food). I also used my sewing machine on this one.
I began stamping this happy tri-colored star panel with Hero Arts Mid-Tone Inks and thought I would use it for Card No. 2, but it didn't work out so I set it aside. Then I had an idea when I was rifling through my Thickers for some of my favorite gold ones. I grabbed Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm Thickers (adorable!) and decided to sew on a string to attach the Thicker banners to. I drew on a gold line border (go gold) and added my Thicker sentiment and little Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm heart.
I still have some printables from The Daily Grind Collection Vol. 1 sitting on my table and I decided I wanted to make a masculine sort of love card. This ended up being a sort of specific card for a family man. I die cut the stitched journaling card from Lawn Fawn and added a couple of journaling cards from The Daily Grind Collection Vol. 1: Journaling Cards behind it. All of the images on the journaling card are from The Daily Grind Collection Vol. 1: Elements. The background is second generation stamping of the open circles with Sprinkles from October Afternoon flicked over it. Makes for a cool and not too in your face background.
