Hello again everyone! We hope you are enjoying the party atmosphere here at the winnie & walter blog! Today, we have our first ever storyboard, and it features Sugar Rush! We thought it would be fun to share some ideas of how you could put this uber-sweet set to use. Shay and I both really love stamps that have versatility, so we have included features like a chevron patterned cupcake liner, additional tiny pennants and banners to put on cupcakes, or dangle from Stripes or Party Hangover stamps, and words that fit in a variety of spaces. We have even broken down some words as samples, and I bet you can find a few more too.
Card No. 1
My "make a wish" card came together from a mix of ideas, and then I read Debby Hughes' post where she was talking about sparklers on cupcakes. I was thinking the same thing. Here is my take!
The background is the wrinkle-free distress technique on Stampin' Up confetti cream paper. Using the same colors, I stamped and inked up the cupcake, adding the chevron style cupcake liner and a touch of wink of stella along the icing edges for a subtle sparkle. The wish is a die cut from The Big, the Bold and Party cutaways, and I simply snipped off the last two letters. See what I mean?Versatility! The word is slightly raised up using rolled up glue dots under the thicker parts of the letters.
I did a twist on the sparkler elements. The sparkler stem is stamped in grey on the background, and the actual sparkle is embossed on vellum and punched with a 1 3/4 circle punch. It is the larger of the two bursts. To add a bit more dimension, I die cut two of the stars from the Big Bang Confetti Cutaways, inking the larger one, and embossing the smaller one in the same powder as the burst. The two stars are glued together and then added to the vellum with a pop dot. I finished with some yellow and blue sequin love.
Card No. 2
For my next project, I wanted to use some of our party elements for a different themed card - wedding!
This card has very little stamping, but includes die cut elements that are super fun! The card base is on a white shimmer paper that is subtle and beautiful. I chose several of the cutaways to create the confetti for the background - all from both Big Bang Confetti and The Party Confetti Cutaways, plus the In a Word: Cheers Cutaway for the focal image and sentiment. I divided the elements into three groups and gave them a Heidi Swapp color shine spritz to make them all pretty! I used Tinsel, Blush and Teal.
Before gluing down the elements, I strategically stamped the tiny roses from Sugar Rush and the Mr. & Mrs. Sentiment from This Awesome House to tuck in under the ee - hee hee *happy place*
Once stamped, I glued in the confetti and ribbon curls and used foam adhesive to pop the cheers up in front. The Sugar Rush set also includes two puffy hearts and two puffy stars, and since it was for a wedding, I stamped the hearts in as additional confetti using the darker rose color used on the flowers, and added Stickles. Last but not least, sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for the final shine.
I can't wait for you to see the samples from today. If you already love Sugar Rush and Sparkle, you will adore what these talented ladies have created!
