Happy World Card Making Day! I'm so excited to be hosting a color challenge on the Winnie & Walter blog today, and I hope you'll want to play along using the colors aqua/teal, blue and green. :)
To create my card, I started by first die cutting a piece of scrap white CS using the Cover Model: Multifaceted Cutaway, then layered it on top of a piece of watercolor paper, securing it with washi tape. Next, I colored in the individual triangles using watercolor paints in aqua/teal, light blue and green. For a little added interest, I colored in the remaining triangles using white shimmer watercolor. Once the triangles were all painted, I lifted the scrap CS die cut, then set the watercolored layer aside to dry.
While I was waiting for the watercolor layer to dry, I used the Big, the Bold and Friends Cutaways on white, teal and light gray CS to die cut the focal sentiment. The die cuts were layered together with white on the bottom, light gray in the middle and teal offset on the top. I then stamped the remainder of the sentiment in gray ink onto white CS using the Big, the Bold and You. Once the watercolor layer was dry, I adhered a fresh die cut piece of white CS on top, and trimmed two edges to create an angled panel. The layer was then adhered to a light gray card base using foam tape. To finish up, I adhered the stamped and die cut sentiments to the card front before embellishing with large, clear gems.
Well, that wraps it up for me today, I hope you've had a wonderful WCMD! :)
Prize: One randomly chosen project that is linked up will win $50.00 gift credit to the w&w shop.

ReplyDeleteVery attractive color scheme. You inspired me to create a shaker card. Must say though that the die cut version is more desirable. I cut some triangles with a knife. adhering the foam tape was quite challenging when creating the shaker Windows. This card is a thanks to all of you W&W marvelous designers for the inspiration. Cheers
