Without further ado, Isha....
So, today's post is all about Home Decor. I made a simple hoop, a banner out of my patterned paper scraps (perfect way to use those tiny bit) and then I tried a silk painting all by myself. I am so glad to do that and now need some practice to get better....see you don't only have to make cards or papercraft projects with these AWESOME supplies...lol
First the Hoop, I did some stamping and paper piecing :) I used Comfort + Joy, In Bloom: Anna's Flora, Let it Snow, Happiest of Holidays with Evelin T Designs and In Bloom: Hollie'e Festive Florals.
For my 2nd. project I tried some silk painting. I bought this silk frame and used In Bloom: Addie's Garden Stamp set. These tulips are so pretty that I had to use them (a change from Christmas projects)
Now for my last project I am back to my Holiday decor and made a banner. The most Awesome thing is, that the digital cut files which comes with the stamps made it so easy to cut all those pieces using my Cameo. After I had all my pieces ready it was so quick :) I could also use so many of my scraps of patterned papers to cut various tags :)
I used In Bloom: Renee's Leaves and In Bloom: Elsa's Flora stamp sets and Essentials: Katharine Cutaways, Essentials: Noelle Cutaways, In Bloom: Paulina's Greenery Cutways and True Multifaceted Star Cutaways
I hope you enjoyed and got inspired by today's projects. There is more information on my blog about the inks I used etc.
I also want to mention, Winnie&Walter are generously giving away a gift card for my readers. I have the information on my blog about it. Thank you Julie and Shay :)

ReplyDeleteAll of these projects are amazing. The silk painting is so neat. I haven't seen that in years. ♥
ReplyDeleteFABULOUS projects and EXCITING techniques Isha, SO MUCH to LOVE in each peice!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about doing a hoop, have only tried my hand stamping ribbon, never fabric and definitely not on a large scale like yours, great idea to incorporate the paper pieces, they add wonderful dimension and texture!!!
What inks did you use for the silk frame? I imagine it would have been quite delicate and difficult to not have the colours bleed, so I'm impressed with how clear the tulip images are and how pretty the shading is.
While I might not be adventurous enough to try my hand with fabrics at the moment, I am excited at trying your banner design, layering lots of die cuts and fussy cuts :)
THANK YOU for sharing your CREATIVE INSPIRATION!!!
Hi Tracy, I used Imagine Crafts All Purpose inks for the silk painting. There are special silk paints out there too but I didn't have them :) Hope this helps.
