Playdate No. 2 | Vanessa's Take

Hello everybody!

Vanessa here with a card I made using the colors from the current Playdate challenge

This photo is so beautiful and I really love the flowers, but I wanted my take on the challenge to be very modern and clean without it looking too much like the inspiration photo. So I just used the color palette to create my card:

Vanessa Playdate2

I started with a white cardstock panel that I trimmed slightly smaller than my card base. Then I stamped the solid rectangle from Scenery: Rectangled & Triangled using Hero Arts Butter Bar Shadow Ink, Hero Arts Green Hills Shadow Ink and Tsukineko Angel Pink Ink. With Tsukineko Tuxedo Black Ink I stamped the words "happy", "my" and "friend" from The Big, the Bold, and the Happy onto the rectangles and adhered the panel to the card using foam tape. Now I heat-embossed the big "hello" from the same set onto pink cardstock and fussy-cut it. For more dimension, I used foam tape to adhere the word to the card. Finally, I adhered matching sequins and that little butterfly from the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes collection.

I hope that I have inspired you with my take on the challenge! Now it's your turn! Create a project inspired by the Playdate inspiration photo or color scheme and enter to win a chance to be a Guest Designer for the July release! I would love to see you there!! You have until June, 15, 2014 at 11:55 p.m. (central standard time) to link up. Can't wait to see what you create!  For more information or to link up CLICK HERE.

Have a beautiful day and happy creating!

  6. I really enjoyed reading Vanessa’s take on Playdate No. 2. The creativity and thoughtful details make this project feel genuinely fun and inspiring. It’s always great to see ideas that bring families together, much like a free family health records app can help keep important family information organized.
