Now, on to my simple card using the Playdate No. 2 as my inspiration.
Here's the Playdate No. 2 image:
Heather Pulvirenti, one of the The Talent of w&w, is the gifted photographer and chose the color inspiration for our Playdate No. 2.
I had some fun with my Distress Inks and a water brush. Can you tell? I am on a Distress Ink kick. ;-)
I inked up the flowers and leaves from The Write Stuff: Leave it to Mom in fired brick, worn lipstick and peeled paint (leaves). Then I blended the colors with a water brush on the watercolor paper. I additionally added flickers of watered down ink and brushed on a little pink to the background. I edged the panel with mustard seed Distress Ink with my ink blending tool. The patterned paper is by Basic Grey from their Knee Highs collection which I stamped with "celebrate" from The Big, the Bold and Extras. I scored the patterned paper to help to stamp in a straight line, but I also folded the paper at the score so when I adhered it under the watercolor panel it lifts off the card for dimension and interest.
Also from The Big, the Bold and Extras is the solid banner which I stamped in mustard seed and painted in a bit. I let it dry and then overstamped with the outline of the banner in black. I cut it out and stamped in the sentiment "you're brilliant" from Bubble Talk (which should be in the shop very soon!). I adhered the banner with some foam dimensional adhesive in the middle of the banner and flat on the ends so it has some shape. I added all of the layers onto an A2 white card base.
Last I added some black sequins as I chose to pull in black from the sentiments as my neutral. I know it is high contrast but I really love having both bright white and black with pops of color on a card.
I am so glad Heather came up with such a lovely color scheme!
