Hello.
I really do not know where this last month has gone.
Its been truly fabulous being leading lady for Winnie and Walter  and i have had such an amazing fun making my projects.
Thanks to everyone that's stopped by and commented you all made my month :)
I will pick a random winner for the $30 store credit next Saturday so you will still have this week to comment :)
Please make sure to check back or make sure i can contact you if you win.
Thanks.
Now on to my finale, I have gone 3D!

I have wanted to make one of these pop up card/box thingys for ages.
After seeing the fantastically fun The Party Confetti Cutaways i thought they really would be perfect popping up out of the box, like a party in a box lol.

Now i will be totally honest i didn't have any idea how i was going to decorate the outside.
I had only thought of the pop ups.
So i kept i real simple and stamped the images from Scenery: Big Bang Bling in rainbow colours.
I then repeated on the insides to (the ones that fold out).
All the die cut shapes and sentiments are attached to strips of acetate so they look like they really are popping up out of the box.

The front of this card is very simple as i wanted the 3D element inside to make the statement.
I have used the Goldie Trim Cutaways to make 3D streamers.

I used the lanterns from The Party stamp set so that the streamers didn't look lost on the middle of the card.
They were simply heat embossed , fussy cut then adhered on foam tape.
I made little tassels  from twine instead of stamping them just for an extra detail.

And a close up :)

Still on the theme of streamers i used the Scenery: Stripes  stamped in pastel tones on my panel and replicated the colours on the die cut sentiment.

I added some sprinkles of the birthday bash sequins from Pretty pink posh.

Then the inside has pop up cupcakes.
Very simple to do but a nice touch that adds some dimension.
The cupcakes are all paper pieced with patterned paper.

Julie and Shay have very Kindly given me $30 gift card to the Winnie and Walter store to give away on my blog
All you have to do for a chance to win is comment.
As mentioned i will pick a random winner next Saturday so please do check back to see if your the lucky winner :)

I hope you have enjoyed my 3d cards and thanks so much for stopping by.

Let's get to the fun stuff now!

Julie

Wow – this week really has been A Week to Die For, hasn’t it???  The inspiration from our guests and DT Talent has been absolutely incredible.  I am joining in today, continuing with my love of shaker cards, and great big confetti balloons.  You can never have enough birthday cards.

jmog_itsyourbday_wtdf_1

I wanted to use a great big balloon for my focal image, and I created one with vellum and circle dies.  I cut out an extra section for the balloon tie, to keep it authentic *wink*.  I have been enjoying the trend of using tassels on balloons, so I created my own tassel using the Lulu Fringe Cutaway, cutting some crepe paper, separating out the fringe slightly, and winding it up with a little glue.  I tied some bakers twine around it to finish it off.  It’s a fun twist, right?

jmog_itsyourbday_wtdf_2

The clouds were created using the large scallop design from the Goldie Trim Cutaways and used both the trim and the paper it leaves behind to create a large puffy cloud shape.  This card should probably have a rainbow since the clouds have a delicate silver lining created by painting Wink of Stella on the trim and gluing it next to the rest of the cloud.  It is tough to see behind the balloon, but it is still noticeable, and is a fun feature on the cloud in front.  I added a birthday sentiment from the Bubble Talk stamp set and die cut it with one of the banner strips from Essentials: Katharine Cutaways from vellum colored pink with a Copic marker. Just a few sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for a sparkling finish.

Now let’s see what Shay has created with these two versatile die sets.

Shay

What is better than the big balloon shaker Julie made?  Not much! lol  It is a hard act to follow.

I decided to keep it simple today and concentrate on the Lulu Fringe Cutaway.  I wanted something that really showed off the dimension using plain cardstock you can get from this cutaway.

shay_day4a

I cut the fringe 6 times from 6 inch long pieces of white cardstock I then scored each at 1" horizontally and folded them over in half.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink by Ranger in spun sugar, picked raspberry, dried marigold, ripe persimmon, squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, shabby shutters, mowed lawn, tumbled glass, salty ocean, shaded lilac and dusty concord with a water brush and colored each piece a different color using the 2 shades of the color.  I let them dry a bit and glued the halves together and then played with them to give them some shape before adhering them onto a panel of white cardstock.  I folded the edges over and glued them to the back.

I threaded a piece of gold thread (inspired by yesterday's card by Kelly) through In a Word: Cheers Cutaway cut from white cardstock.  I wrapped the gold thread around the back of the panel and adhered it with washi.  Then I adhered the fringe panel to a white card base with foam dimensional adhesive.

Now let's get to the good stuff!

Shay

After doing more masculine cards this week I went with something more feminine that I could give my college age cousin or 40-something aunt (told you it was a big birthday month lol).

shay_day3a

This card was something of a challenge as it kept on evolving.  I cut the Big Bang Confetti Cutaways and The Party Confetti Cutaways from shiny gold cardstock. I cut "birthday" and "wishes" from The Big, the Bold and Party Cutaways from fuchsia cardstock.  I attached the words and confetti to a piece of white cardstock cut from the smaller rectangle from Essentials: Katharine Cutaways.  I then used Tim Holtz Distress Ink by Ranger in picked raspberry, mustard seed and wild honey with a water brush to color the panel.  I added another layer of white "birthday" and "wishes" over the other words shifting them slightly to cause a shadow of sorts.  I placed the colored panel on a black panel cut from the larger rectangle from Essentials: Katharine Cutaways with dimensional foam adhesive.  Last I attached it all to a white A2 cardbase.

shay_day3b

You've seen nothing yet though...I am merely here to warm you up for the real performance.  Be prepared to be amazed!
