Shades of Spring | Party with Mayuri

Hello there - Mayuri here to share a project using images from mainly one Winnie & Walter stamp set - The Party. There are so many versatile images in this set, and so many different techniques you can try with them!

I began this card spritzing a panel of white cardstock with a little bit of water, and then stamping the back of the lantern images from the set. I started with the large one, and then used the smaller one to make longer lanterns, finishing with the tassel at the bottom.

Using the back of the stamps in this way helps you to quickly block out areas of colour - I used Distress Inks, and adding water to your panel at the beginning gets the inks moving (you don't have to do this step if you want a crisper look).

Once I'd laid down all the colour, I heat set the panel and stamped over these areas with the right side of the stamp using black dye ink. I stamped the sentiment in the bottom left hand corner before trimming the panel down to slightly smaller than my card base using the largest frame die from the Essentials: Katherine Cutaways.

I drew some lines in to make the lanterns look like they were hanging from a ceiling and then foam mounted the panel to the card base. For a bit of sparkle, I added some gemstones.
