Today and Always with Keren Baker

Hi everyone! Hope you're ok.
It's getting to that season again.
The flurry of panic over what to wear, what to buy, where to stay and how to remain polite whilst speaking to a gazillion new people. Smiling so much that your jaw hurts and then wondering quite how it ended costing so much when you were simply a guest!
Wedding season.
Well, I think this will the be the first year where I won't be going to one, but I happened to glance at the fun stamp set LS Exclusives: So Tweet with Evelin T Designs and thought 'wedding'!
w_w_lse_-sotweet-withevelintd_6x8_web_large
It looks a little like nuptials with a Hipster twist. There isn't a wedding dress in the set, but it was easy to create one.
First up, some masking. I didn't fancy fussy cutting the hats so I stamped the hat onto a piece of cardstock, then stamped it onto some post-it notes. Cut out the image on the post-it note and stick on top of the original stamped hat. Then stamp the bird body on top & you get a perfectly positioned hat and body
You can have so much fun playing 'dress-up'with this set. It took me back to the push out clothing books and paper dolls I loved when I was a kid and then the fashion designer set with a crayon that you rubbed over the top and mixed and matched tops, bottoms, patterns etc.
Anyway, enough of my childhood! I think they make such a cute couple and this would be perfect for a wedding or an anniversary too!
I've coloured them with alcohol markers and am hoping that no-one will notice that her dress is actually see-through! I couldn't emulate a wedding dress any other way. I guess as birds already wear feathers, maybe it's not too much of a shocker for today ;-)
See you soon xx

June Leading Lady Michele Ferguson | Take Four

Michele_june2016

June will soon be ending soon which sadly means it is our last Saturday with the one-of-kind, tremendously talented and phenomenal Leading Lady, Michele Ferguson.  The last four weeks with Michele have been full of joy, incredibly inspiring, and a sheer delight.  Michele's giant heart and awesome abilities shine through each project.  I feel so blessed for Michele sharing her talents and self this month!

If you missed her smashing debut you must see it...CLICK HERE or her oh so tweet second performance CLICK HERE or her triumphant third performance dapper and dashing projects...CLICK HERE.

Lucky for us all we have her final command performance today.

June is the favorite month among brides for weddings ... and Winnie & Walter provides just the perfect elements for my special all white wedding cards today, my last day as your Leading Lady!  Can you believe June is nearly over?!!  No sad tears, just happy ones today!!

First up:  Cover Model: The Leaf Effect Cutaway, for a bit of paper confetti?

After running this cutaway through my machine, I just couldn't bear to discard all those beautiful bits - way better to create this gorgeous paper rice!  My acetate card base was a bit tricky for a sentiment ... I found a way!

Just a few sprinkles on a wedding [card] couldn't harm, right?
These lovelies are from Walter's Sparkly Shaker Selection

My final card [she writes with sadness] uses the lovely True Multifaceted Heart cutaways and the tiniest little darling sprig from Renee's leaves set ... but I've spotted any number that would work from other floral sets!

Essentials: Noelle cutaways provide the perfect platform for these paired hearts!

Oh, goodness, sadly that's it from me!  Shay - thank you!!  You've given me such an honor - thank you for your generous heart, and all the hand-holding along the way!

Thank you, everyone, for all the wonderful comments, and support this month.  It has been such a blast!  I do hope you were inspired in some way by my use of these extraordinary Winnie & Walter products - so fabulous!

Remember all you have to do is comment over at my blog for your chance at Shay's generous gift!!  Hope to see you there!

Today is our last day of Share the Love Week Featuring Essentials by Ellen by Ellen Hutson LLC, but we are ending with a bang!  This week has been a blast creating with such exceptional products by Essentials by Ellen from Ellen Hutson LLC, seeing what you created (make sure to see them because they are fabulous and remember you can participate until July 3), seeing what the incredible design team at Ellen Hutson has done on the CLASSroom, seeing what The Talent has made for the challenges and reading your comments (we appreciate each and every one!).

Today our challenge is MOOD BOARD!  Use the colors, design, images or anything that catches your fancy from the mood board to create a project.

Shay

I can't believe it is already the final day of our Share the Love Week featuring Essentials by Ellen by Ellen Hutson LLC.  Creating with Essential by Ellen products along with w&w products really has been a real pleasure and very fun.  I hope you have all enjoyed it as much as I have. :-)

When I was creating the mood board it was the planner by the incomparable Christy Tomlinson that I built all the rest of the images around so naturally I had to use it as my main inspiration for my card today.

shay_IMG_3999

I began by stamping the sentiment from Essentials by Ellen Clear Stamps, Up the Happy on a white cardstock panel.

On a white card base I stamped flowers from In Bloom: Eva's Favorite Flowers using Distress Inks spritzed with water for an imperfect watercolored look.  I used colors inspired by the mood board: pink; coral; mint; lime/chartreuse; orange-yellow; and lilac.   I stamped the butterfly from Essentials by Ellen Clear Stamps, Up the Happy in Versamark and then embossed it with gold glitter embossing powder.  I then die cut the butterfly using Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Up the Happy by Julie Ebersole and attached it to the panel with dimensional foam adhesive.

To mimic the dashboard from the planner I attached the sentiment panel to the card base using floral washi (bought from Freckled Fawn...not sure when) and some gold glitter tape.

Now for the excitingly marvelous mood board projects by Kelly and Vanessa of the Talent!  I hope you feel inspired by us and the mood board to create something beautiful using Ellen Hutson + Winnie & Walter products!

Ellen Hutson LLC is so amazing that not only are they are giving away prizes and have a special shopping discount, but their design team is playing along all week with our challenges.  You will not want miss any moment so check them out by CLICKING HERE.

Today our challenge is: TRANSPARENT!  Use vellum, acetate, glassine and/or other transparent mediums and products to create a project.

Shay

I love vellum so I wanted to use some for this challenge.

shay_IMG_3998

I cut out Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Bold Blossom Stand-Alone by Julie Ebersole twice from vellum and twice from white cardstock.  On the vellum flowers I sprayed them with pink spray dabbing off any excess which gave the a pale pink and curled it up for dimension.  I sprayed the vellum leaves with gold spray.  I layered the vellum and cardstock flowers and leaves only attaching them in a few places to keep them from being flat and perfectly aligned.  On a panel I added some light green Distress Inks using Scenery: Classic Diagonal Creative Screenings.  I placed the flowers and leaves on the diagonal stripe panel and added some gold glitter enamel dots to the centers of the flowers.  I flicked some of the pink and gold sprays to the green striped panel.  I added the die cut "hello" from The Big, the Bold, and the Happy Cutaways in white.  I adhered everything to a slightly larger white card base than the green diagonal stripe panel.

Now for the tantalizingly transparent projects by Keren, Laura and Taheerah of the Talent!  We hope we inspire you to create some Ellen Hutson + Winnie & Walter projects showcasing the transparent!

We are halfway through our Share the Love Week featuring Essentials by Ellen by Ellen Hutson LLC, but we have so much more inspiration, challenges and prizes awaiting you!

Ellen Hutson LLC is renown for their excellent customer service and generous support of the crafting community.  The Ellen and her team at Ellen Hutson LLC were so enthusiastic when I approached them about featuring Essentials by Ellen for our Share the Love Week and joined in wholeheartedly with delightful inspiration with their take on each challenge on the CLASSroom.  They are even offering gift certificates and a special shopping discount so be sure to visit the CLASSroom all week long!  We are honored to have our stamps in their store and to ink up their products! :-)

Today our challenge is BACKGROUND BUILDING!  Use products to build a background.

Shay

I must admit stamping backgrounds is a particular favorite and I can go a bit wild like I did for today's card. :-)

shay_IMG_3997

Using In Bloom: Lola's Bouquet with Joni Andaya I stamped and I stamped and I stamped some more on a sheet of watercolor paper using Distress Inks.  Because the background was so busy I decided to add a layer of vellum cut using the largest panel from Essentials: Audrey Cutaways.  On pink cardstock I stamped the words "have a" "wedding day" using The Big, the Bold and Extras and The Big, the Bold and Fun in Versamark and heat embossed it in white.  I cut Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Brushstroke Wonderful by Julie Ebersole in white cardstock.  I added the sentiments to the vellum panel.  I hid the adhesive to attach the vellum to the background panel behind the cardstock rectangles.

Now for the brilliant projects showcasing background building by Lydia and Mayuri of the Talent!  We hope we inspire you to create some Ellen Hutson + Winnie & Walter projects building backgrounds!

Ellen Hutson LLC not only carries an amazing array of products, but their brand, Essentials by Ellen, designed by the ever-outstanding Julie Ebersole is amazing!  As a huge fan, it is always a delight to see what products they are releasing next.  It was a dream to play with Essentials by Ellen products with our own.

Today our challenge is SENTIMENTAL!  Put the emphasis on the sentiment.

Shay

shay_IMG_3994

Ellen Hutson LLC kindly sent us all Essentials by Ellen Clear Stamps, Totally Awesome and Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Brushstroke Wonderful by Julie Ebersole (find out how you could win both generously provided by Ellen Hutson LLC by reading further).  For my first card I used the  Essentials by Ellen Clear Stamps, Totally Awesome by stacking the sentiments on an acrylic block and stamping them in various blue inks and then overstamping it in black in for an optical illusion sort of vibe.  I chose to stamp "you" from The Big, the Bold and You (I have been inking up this stamp a lot lately!) in a red-orange to really set it off.  I added some star embellishments I got from Freckled Fawn a while ago (big fan of theirs) and I can't seem to do without some flicks of spray either (this time black). lol

For something different but just as simple I used one of my favoritest stamp sets of all time which features a very beloved flower of mine: Essentials by Ellen Clear Stamps, Mondo Hydrangea.  I swoon over this stamp set.  You really need to check out how Kelly showcased this stamp set HERE...Holy hydrangea, Batman! Or how Taheerah used it to create such a modern and lovely card HERE.  My own offering is very modest in comparison.

shay_IMG_3996

I paired the singular blooms with a sentiment from Kindness with Evelin T Designs.  Note how nicely the "kindness" is *die* cut out?  ;-)  So happy with that...more on our shop update next week.  I heat embossed the blooms in white embossing powder as well as the sentiments.  Add a few pink jewels and pearls and done.

Now for the excitingly sensational sentimental projects by Kelly and Keren of the Talent!  We hope we inspire you to create some Ellen Hutson + Winnie & Walter projects showcasing sentiments!

It's that time again when we Share the Love.  For five days we express our love for a company and/or product and use it with Winnie & Walter products.

This week we are concentrating on Essentials by Ellen by Ellen Hutson LLC.  Founded and headed by the delightful Ellen Hutson, Ellen Hutson LLC has been fostering the love of papercrafting for many years!  With wonderful ladies working at every level of Ellen Hutson LLC not only do they carry a plethora of awesome products, they also produce their own brand of amazing products, Essentials by Ellen, designed by the always incredible Julie Ebersole.  Ellen Hutson LLC also have a fabulous design team, awesome challenges and support numerous challenges and events online.  What is there not to love?

To celebrate this truly special and spectacular company we are going to have challenges, inspiration and giveaways all 5 days!  We want to have you play along too.

Today our challenge is FLORALS!

Shay

Ellen Hutson kindly sent us all a stamp set and die more details on how you could win the same stamp set + die of your very own donated by the very generous Ellen Hutson further below), but I could not help but ink up the Essentials by Ellen Clear Stamps, Mondo Magnolia by Julie Ebersole and the Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Mondo Magnolia by Julie Ebersole for the Floral Challenge.  I simply adore this large open stamp set and coordinating dies that allow you to create 3 layers of the magnolia.  For this card I decided to use patterned paper, some watercoloring on the patterned paper and foam dimensional adhesives to make each layer even more dimensional.

shay_IMG_3991

For a little interest on the white background I stamped the outline woodgrain from Scenery: Into the Woods in a pale grey and flicked orange, yellow and pink sprays.  The sentiment in black is from A Tree for All Seasons.  All the patterned paper is from the Simple Stories Sunshine & Happiness 6x6 paper pad as I had it out from my last project and I loved the juicy summer colors.

Now for the excitingly fabulous floral projects by Lydia, Heather P. and Taheerah of the Talent!  We hope we inspire you to create some Ellen Hutson + Winnie & Walter projects showcasing florals!

June Leading Lady Michele Ferguson | Take Three

Michele_june2016

Our June Leading Lady, Michele Ferguson, is back for her triumphant third performance!  If you missed her smashing debut you must see it...CLICK HERE or her oh so tweet second performance CLICK HERE.  Today Michele takes on dapper and dashing for dad!

Without further ado, Michele....

Each year, as Father's Day approaches, I begin to miss my own Dad a bit more than usual.  So, from me and Winnie & Walter: an Ode to Dad!

Many moons ago, there was a trend to 'tie a yellow ribbon' around a tree ... a very sweet way to say you're missed.  Here I've used Scenery: Into the Woods for my tree, and Take a Bow Cutaways for the tails to my Home-made In a Word ribbon!  Can you find the hidden little heart?

michele_home WWLL wk 3

That little star carries you right to the inside sentiment:
"... is where our hearts meet!  I'm missing you today."

My Dad was a big fan of hugs and kisses - I am, too!  The paper variety get used often with In a Word: Kisses and The Big, the Bold and Friends Cutaways.  Take a Bow makes another appearance - this time the medium sized one.

michele_kisses hugs WWLL wk3

I've used papers from a favorite paper pack from Kaisercraft:  Shine Bright

For my final card today, I created a special birthday card for the father of a friend who is celebrating his 80th birthday at the end of the month.  Bless him, he still golfs every chance he can get!  Using Flawless Diamond Cutaways, I've made the perfect 'golf ball' for his card, and used another of those Bow tails for the perfect tee ... be sure you read the inside sentiment- hopefully you'll smile.

michele_dad 2 WWLL wk 3

Inside:
"You shine like a diamond, even when you're in 'the rough!'
[d.a.d. alphas are die cuts from my stash of home-made thickers]

It is a bit hard to see, but I've embossed
to add a little dimpled pattern to the base panel...
like a golf ball?  tap, tap ... is this thing on?  =]

michele_dad WWLL wk3

I hope you have the pleasure of spending a day with your own Dad on Father's Day.  How about sharing an extra hug for me, please?  and thanks so much for stopping over to my blog ... there could be a gift card in your future!!
