========================================================================
Today is very exciting for us because we are introducing a new stamp "pocket" size for us 3x4 with Mini Scenery and little cute stamp sets that will add that element of festive fun!  Today we will be featuring Eat Drink Gingerbread Man and Mini Scenery: The Peppermint Zone.  We hope you love these wee gems.

Another product that we have been working on for a while is now a reality: Creative Screenings our name for stencils and masks!  We've been teasing you all with some peeks of the Creative Screenings for the past month because we have 19 designs premiering this release.  We have backgrounds, The Big, the Bold word masks (each word comes in 2 sizes) and duos which include positive and negatives of a design.  You will see these featured today and throughout this release week and we invited 2 of our friends that both happen to be from across the pond, Kate Capper and Shirley Bampton, to go all out with the Creative Screenings for even more inspiration.

>>>THE GOOD STUFF<<<

Let's get to the fun part and see what Julie, Shay, our guest stars, Cresta Woodruff (our fabulous winner of the Playdate No. 3 challenge), Jennifer Ingle (our October Leading Lady), Kate Capper + Shirley Bampton aka shirley-bee and The Talent (our supernova creative team) made with it. And make sure you visit Cresta's, Jennifer's, Kate's and Shirley's each of The Talent's blogs for more knock-it-out-of-the-park projects and details.  Don't forget to share some love with them too!

Julie

I’m so very excited that we finally get to share this release with all of you!  It feels like it has been a long wait, and we hope you think it was well worth it!  Today I have a couple of cards to share.  The first is a fun card with our little friend….Mr. Gingerbread Man!

Card No. 1

jmog_be-merry_octrelease

I stamped our little guy from Eat Drink Gingerbread Man three times and water colored him with distress inks. The boys on the sides are glued flat, and the one in the middle is popped up.  I also used the Scenery: Classic Diagonal Creative Screenings to create this peppermint stripe in brown, and added the lines of red and green for accent, and then embossed them with some Lindy’s Stamp Gang Embossing Powders (Candy Cane Red Gold and Fiddlehead Fern Green). I created a larger strip, and then cut it down into thin strips to make the top and bottom border.  You are going to LOVE the new Creative Screenings!!! I can't wait for you to see them all!

I love the sentiment in this set, and thought I would use only the BE MERRY since it has that very sweet font.  I used some washi to cover over the other words in the stamp and then inked it up with Versamark.  After peeling the tape off, I stamped it and then embossed with the same red ep.  For a final touch, I stamped the gumdrops in Stampin’ Up! Iridescent Ice ep so that it would have a subtle white shimmer similar to sugar, and then used a marker to color over the gum drops.  The reds are flat and the greens are popped.  Too Fun!

Card No. 2

jmog_merry-ornament_octrelease

My second card has a lot of shimmer and elegance.  The card base is one of my faves – Night Sky shimmer cardstock by Papertrey Ink. I love the weight of this paper and the navy shimmer is divine!  It makes a wonderful backdrop to the silver elements.  First, the merry was die cut using the brand new The Big, the Bold and the Merry Cutaways dies. You will get to hear more about these little beauties later this week.  I inked a piece of cardstock with Versamark and then embossed it with Aegean Silver ep from Judi-Kins, and then ran the die through my cuttlebug.  LOVE IT!

The “and bright” are stamped with words from The Big, the Bold and the Merry stamp set and embossed with the same ep.  Finally, the vellum ornament was so fun to design.  I stamped and embossed Mini Scenery: The Peppermint Zone on vellum and die cut with a circle, and added some silver glitter tape cut for the top of the ornament.  The silver thread – UGH – it looks good now, but it is not my favorite thread.  It gave me a workout the other night.  But, it was all worth it.  Blue and silver, with a touch of Sparkling Clear sequins (4 and 6mm) from Pretty Pink Posh.  What’s not to love?  And, there is so much more to see below from Shay, the Talent, and our special guests!  Enjoy!!!

Shay

I have to say I really love Mini Scenery: The Peppermint Zone.  In fact my sister who is notoriously particular (she doesn't like stars for instance...yeah stars) actually loves that stamp set.  Both of my cards today feature Mini Scenery: The Peppermint Zone.

Card No. 1

shay_day1_1a

I wanted to emboss in white Mini Scenery: The Peppermint Zone so I did just that on a piece of watercolor paper by Tim Holtz from Ranger.  Then I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink by Ranger in fired brick spritzed with water to paint in the panel.  Then I used the Scenery: Big Bang Classic Star Creative Screenings with calico shine Mister Huey's Color Mists by Studio Calico to add some shimmery stars over the whole panel.

shay_day1_1b

I embossed the sentiment from Eat Drink Gingerbread Man in silver on a strip of vellum and also stamped it in pale tomato Hero Arts Mid-Tone Shadow Ink on a piece of white cardstock and I punched out the "and" with a 3/4" inch circle punch.  I wrapped the vellum around the peppermint panel and also wrapped some grey and white baker's twine too.  I adhered the panel to a white card base with foam dimensional adhesive.  Last are some 4mm marshmallow sequins (perfect name!) from Pretty Pink Posh.

Card No. 2

When I saw Julie's second card I had to laugh as we seemed to be of one mind...just wait until you see my card. Any resemblance was completely unplanned. :-)

shay_day1_2a

I think the gingerbread man in Eat Drink Gingerbread Man is pretty spiffy, charming and cute so I *had* to use him and more than once.  I embossed him 3 times in white on a piece of watercolor paper and got down to watercoloring him in with antique linen, brushed corduroy and walnut stain Tim Holtz Distress Ink by Ranger with a little calico shine Mister Huey's Color Mists by Studio Calico mixed in.  I added some enamel dot by My Mind's Eye to the little gingerbread men.

For the background of my card I stamped Mini Scenery: The Peppermint Zone two times in pale tomato Hero Arts Mid-Tone Shadow Ink.  I distressed the edges of the peppermint panel.

On a strip of white cardstock I stamped and embossed in gold "be merry" from the sentiment from Eat Drink Gingerbread Man.

I attached the gingerbread men with foam dimensional adhesive, added the gold confetti from Pretty Pink Posh and adhered it to a layer of blue cardstock before added it to a white card base.

This card reminds me of Candy Land which makes me pretty happy as I always enjoyed that game when I was a little.  I hope these stamps and Creative Screenings will inspire you to play.

Now, you will not want to miss the unbelievable projects by our guest stars and The Talent!
