October Leading Lady Priyasarshini Deshpande aka Piyu | Take Four

Another month is coming to an end which means we sadly are going to be bidding adieu to our October Leading Lady, Priyasarshini Deshpande also known as Piyu, with her final fabulous performance.  Each project by Piyu has been so thoughtful and full of beautiful color, artistry and care.  I don't think I am alone in being delighted with the projects she created for us each week.  It has been an honor to have Piyu as our leading lady this month.

Hello Friends!

Today is my last post here as the October Leading Lady. So before proceeding to my projects, I wanted to thank you all for all the love and encouragement in the form of your comments here and on my blog. I had lot of fun here. Thanks so much Shay for this opportunity!

For my final post, I wanted to have something different, something other than cards. And hence I selected the theme "Décor".

I will start with the cupcake toppers.

I stamped the pretty flowers from the In Bloom: Shirley's Blooms stamp set and used the coordinating In Bloom: Shirley's Blooms Cutaways.

I created various combinations of layered flowers and  added some glitter with wink of stella.

Finally I adhered a toothpick at the back and added a bow to complete the look.

My second project is also made using In Bloom: Shirley's Blooms stamp set. I made a rainbow flower wall hanging.

To make one 5 Dimensional flower, I stamped the flower 5 times in different colors. I then die cut it, scored and folded it in half. Finally adhered all 5 flowers together.

I made some tassels using silk thread and added it to the hanging along with some beads.

And now the last project. I made a birthday banner using 3 stamp sets - Ring in the Celebration, Party On with Evelin T Designs and Typecast: Cary.

The Ring in the Celebration and Typecast: Cary are two "must-have" stamp sets along with the coordinating cutaway - Ring in the Celebration Cutaways.  These are so versatile and one can make a lot of combinations with them.

I have also used In a Word: Birthday Tiles Cutaways in my banner to add some interest.

And here's a close up of the cute critters from the Party On with Evelin T Designs stamp set.

With this, I sign off as the October Leading Lady. I hope you liked all my posts. Do leave some love on this post and my blog here. I would love to know which project you liked the most or inspired you. I have  a 30$ Gift card for a lucky commenter.

Winner will be announced on my blog on 4th Nov.
Love,
Piyu

Peace of Earth with Lydia

Hi there everyone and a very happy (or should I say merry) Friday to you!

Today I'm sharing with you a Christmas card..... I hope I'm not too early ;)

I started by stamping the wreath swag from Merry & Bright with Evelin T Designs twice to create a full wreath using black pigment onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. I then stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set in the centre of the wreath using pigment ink I then clear heat embossed the sentiment so it stands out a little more than the wreath. I then used inks as watercolours to add colour to the wreath and a blue wash behind it. Once dry I added a few splatters of gold.

I cut this piece slightly smaller than the card base so I could add some interest to the side. I stamped the candy cane stripe border from Scenery: Holiday Trimmings in red ink onto the right side of the card base. I have to say I just love this stamp and it's one that I keep going back to again and again! Before adding the watercoloured piece to the card base I added a strip of gold to tie in the gold splatters I added to the watercolour piece.

So have you made a start on your holiday cards for this year? I do hope this inspired you to start if not.

See you again soon!

Hugs, Lydia x

Celebrate on Your Special Day with Kelly

Hi Folks! Kelly here to share a card featuring the most adorable fox ever, who, it seems, is also quite musically talented!

I was happy to find music notes in the new Ring in the Celebration set, as they go perfectly with our little flutist. Any time I can, I like to layer stamps. I think it can make your design look more engaging, so I layered the "celebrate" sentiment from Wish Big with Evelin T Designs and the "on your special day" sentiment from Sentimental: Gift (will be available for purchase in November 2017) on top of the rings and stars.

This little fox from Party On with Evelin T Designs is watercolored with Zig Clean Color Markers and die cut with the coordinating Party On with Evelin T Designs Cutaways. Adorbs.

I like having more general cards like this, because although it would be perfect for a birthday, you can also use it for Graduation, having the lead role in a play, teacher appreciation day, really anything that needs to be celebrated. It's good to have options!

Thanks so much for taking a look today!

Kelly

piyu_oct2017

Hello friends!
Welcome to my third post as a Leading lady for October. Today I am sharing 3 cards made using In Bloom: Carolina's Florals with Angelica Suarez stamp set and masking technique.I love "Floral" stamps and this stamp set is so versatile. Not just the flowers and leaves but the sentiments too are a must have.

So here is my first card-

I started by stamping the sentiments at the center of  watercolor cardstock.

Then I stamped the flowers and leaves. I used masking to stamp the images as I wanted them to overlap. I  then colored them using Zig markers.

Then I die cut the card panel using largest scalloped rectangle from the Essentials: Audrey Cutaways . I adhered it on a black colored card panel to give a thin black border and then finally adhered it to white cardstock.

For my second card, I did a lot of masking and stamping again with the same flowers and leaves.

I colored these with Copic markers. Then I fussy cut the border and adhered a black cardstock strip at the back to make the images pop.

Finally I stamped the sentiment from Happy Birthday to You stamp set and die cut it with coordinating Happy Birthday to You cutaways.

For y third card, I masked the center with a rectangle and stamped the flowers and leaves around it.

I colored the images with copic markers.
I added the sentiment from the Wish Big with Evelin T Designs stamp set.

Finally I added a border to the center rectangle with black gel pen.

I hope you liked these cards using masking technique.  I am overwhelmed with all the love received on my previous posts. Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. Do leave me a comment on this post too and also on the leading lady post on my blog here for a chance to win 30$ Gift card.

I will announce the winner on my blog on 4th Nov.

Have a fantastic week ahead.
Love,
Piyu
