August Color Combo with Heather H. (Challenge)

Good morning! Heather here stopping by this morning to share a new Color Combo Challenge with you! Thanks again to everyone who has played along so far - make sure and look for winners and a few featured players at the bottom of this post!

And here is my color inspiration for this month:

This month's inspiration is bold and fun! I thought it was super unique and a fun challenge!

I used Mini Scenery: Bed of Roses for my background, heat embossed with clear powder, then blended two colors of distress ink over the top. I trimmed it down, matted it with a bit of white cardstock. I die cut In a Word: Shine Script Cutaway two times from white cardstock and layered it together for a thicker word embellishment. Added another little word sentiment heat embossed in white on a strip of black cardstock from Sentimental: Birthday. I also covered the word "shine" with Glossy Accents to make it pop even more! Used some navy cardstock, added some white paint splatters to a panel of it, matted with more white cardstock, then mounted on a navy cardbase. Mounted the front panel with foam adhesive for dimension.

Now - I have a few favorites from the last Color Challenge to feature! Every single project was lovely, but I thought I'd give a shout out to a few that especially caught my eye! This month had the MOST entries yet - I'm so happy you enjoyed this color combo! And it made my job even harder - I really wanted to keep going with my favorites...but did my best to narrow down to a few!

First up - LOVE this clever card by Maryam - she doodled the mermail tail herself, and used a Winnie and Walter stencil to add the texture! Swoon!

Then we have this lovely by Gloria Lee - love the soft watercolor ombre background - and I adore how the twine even matches the color combo!

LOVE how this card by Jenny Martin is a PERFECT use of the color combo and it's cool colors, and the bold pop of black. And the design is SOOO fun and happy - who could not love that adorable green bird?!?!?

This card by Marianne is Clean and Simple PERFECTION! LOVE the white space - and the stamp set she used is so perfect for the color combo!

And finally - this gorgeous leaf background from Greta H - the glittery hello is the perfect finishing touch!!!

No. 21 | Marlena M

Marlena made pretty card for our July Color Combo Challenge in which she also used the citrus slices as inspiration for her design.

And since we had so many gorgeous, colorful entries (and because I just feel like it and one the perks of being the boss at w&w is I can do these things on a whim!) I randomly chose one of the Heather's favorite cards featured above to also win as well!

No. 7 | Marianne

Marianne's created this lovely one layered card that needs no layering or embellishments due to her wonderful design and execution.  I love how she used white ink behind "kindness" to lend it more depth.

Marlena M and Marianne, please email us at info {at} winniewalter {dot} com with the subject "July Color Combo Challenge Winner" to claim your prize.
