Winter Wonderland | Winter Wishes with Heather

Hi, everyone! Heather P. here to share my 'Winter Wonderland' project with you... To create my card, I started with a white card base, and stamped the large tree image from Winter Woodland in versamark ink before heat embossing with white powder.  I then used three different ink colors to create my blended background (aqua, turquoise and navy) before using the Scenery: Big Bang Circle Creative Screenings and embossing paste to add a snowy background to the card base.

I then cut a strip of silver foil card stock and adhered it to the bottom of the card front.  Next, I die cut  a bunch of winter sentiments (4 white and 1 blue glitter) using the Big, the Bold and Seasons Cutaways.  I glued the die cuts together, then adhered the sentiment to the card base.  The remainder of the sentiment was stamped in versamark onto gray CS before heat embossing in white.  I trimmed the edge of the cardstock strip to give it a banner shape, then adhered it to the card front with pop dots.  To finish up, I embellished with clear gems.

Well, that wraps it up for me today... Have a great one!
Heather P.

I had to share a closer look at that crackled background! Isn't it gorgeous? I encourage you to check out their entire creative screenings line! Their stencils are fab!

And lastly, a simple one layered card (except I cheated and added some alpha stickers, tsk tsk) using some masking... I couldn't resist using the deer from the Happy Christmas stamp set again. I know, I know! I masked off the edges and inked up the background using distress paints. Then using the Big Bang Circle Creative Screening, I created some snowflakes by using some embossing paste with the stencil.. I love one layer cards with lots of dimension and pairing the stamps with the stencils is a great way to achieve that!

Winter Wonderland | Peace on Earth with Mayuri

Hello there - Mayuri here to share a clean and simple project using images from various Winnie & Walter stamp sets - its so fun when you can mix and match sets in this way to get more mileage from them!
WW_MAYURI_DEC2014_RGB_IMAGE01

I began this card by taking the wreath image from Happy Christmas and repeat stamping it in bright colours to form a large, focal pattern in the top half of my card base. I then stamped the large stag image from Winter Woodland with black dye ink in the middle of the pattern, covered him with clear Wink of Stella and set the card base aside.

WW_MAYURI_DEC2014_RGB_IMAGE02

I wanted to anchor the stag on a snowy hill bank, so created one out of some white cardstock with a curved edge die. I trimmed it to size and added a touch of Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to the top edge before applying some Silver Wink of Stella. This was then foam mounted to the bottom of the card base.

To finish up, I partially stamped a sentiment from the Happy Christmas set and die-cut the word Peace using Winnie & Walter's fabulous Cutaways. I cut a few of these out and stuck them together to create a thicker piece and adhered it to the card front. Again, this was liberally coated with clear Wink of Stella.

I also added a few sequins around the stag for some extra sparkle!
Thanks for stopping by ;-)

Winter Wonderland | Season's Greetings with Laura

Hello Winnie & Walter friends! It's Laura here and today I am here with a holly jolly shaker card using two different Winnie & Walter stamp sets and one fabulous die cut from Ellen Hutson.

w&w_blog_laura_22_12_14

I started out by stamping snowflakes from the Big Bang Flurries stamp set. This stamp set is simply wonderful. I used the large rectangle and stamped it about 6 times using white pigment ink. It is super easy and fast to do! Since pigment ink takes a very long time to dry, I sprinkled Neutral Ultra Shimmer embossing powder from WOW over the wet snowflakes. After heat setting the powder, you end up with beautiful glittery snowflakes.

close_up_laura_w&w_blog_12_22_14

After die cutting a circle, I created a vellum overlay with a sentiment on. I used one of my favorite stamp sets from Winnie & Walter for that. It's the Winter Woodland stamp set and it is magnificent. :) I simply heat embossed a greeting on a piece of vellum using white embossing powder. Then, I added teeny tiny dots of Glossy Accents behind the white embossed letters to adhere the banner. Easy!

I am a huge fan of sequin shakers so I decided to create another one. This time I used a new medium to create a shaker. Instead of using foam tape or foam squares, I used a new product called Fun Foam. I will be using this product in one of my upcoming videos. (Click HERE for a link to my YouTube channel.) I filled up the shaker with Pretty Pink Posh sequins. Finally, I die cut a stag head using glitter paper and the Prize Stag die cut from Ellen Hutson. Oh and of course I adhered a tiny red sequin so that this stag head would turn into Rudolph the Reindeer. *wink*

Thanks so much for visiting! Happy holidays!

December Leading Lady Laurel Beard | Take Three

laurel_beard_dec2014

Our December Leading Lady, Laurel Beard is here for her third riveting performance on the great w&w stage!  If you missed her second triumphant performance CLICK HERE or her stunning debut CLICK HERE.  See for yourself as Laurel glides upon the stage....

Hi there!!! Laurel Beard here back today with Take 3 of my December Leading Lady stint! I have been so enjoying these weekly posts and playing with the release!!! I just can't get enough of it! Today I thought we would focus on the new Creative Screenings line!!! We've got backgrounds, outlines, masks, words..... Oh the fun!!!!! Let's start with the Persuasion Script Screening. Such a gorgeous font. I let the screening speak for itself... I simply layered the screening down over my card panel and applied distress ink over the top. I paired the Persuasion Script Screening with a few images from the Winter Woodland stamp set. I LOVE that stag! And of course, they needed to be nestled on a snow bank, which I created using some embossing paste... The embossing paste pairs perfectly with the stenciled background and gorgeous stag and pinecones, don't you think?

Next up, I thought we would get all festive with the Eat Drink Gingerbread Man stamp set and the Mini Scenery: The Peppermint Zone set. To create this card, I used the Scenery: Big Bang Sci-fi Star Creative Screening. I applied white ink over the stencil to create the background for my card base... The rest of the card came together quite quickly! I just love the Peppermint Zone! I do believe I had a few actual peppermints while I was creating this card! Nothing completes a card without a glass of milk (with a heavy coating of Glossy Accents of course)... And of course, I had to emphasize the sentiment by heat setting it with my favorite embossing powder onto some vellum. Liquid Platinum baby! The font is just delicious!

Moving on to the next card which uses lots of Creative Screenings.... And some masking. Let's take a look at the Big, The bold and the Extras Creative Screening. It is full of such goodness. You have the stencils as well as the outlined images... So what I did here was over lay the stencil and the outline image together and apply ink to the stencil with two different shades of pigment ink... Then I cut it out along with the leaves (from the same creative screening) and used lots of words from the Big, the Bold and the Merry stamp set to create the text overlay. I adhered that to a panel I inked up using the Scenery: Grand Diagonal Creative Screening. See? Told you! Lots of creative screenings on this one!!!!

DSC_0017

And lastly, a somewhat magical card I think. I used lots of heat embossing with the products here to create this card. To start with, I took some plain black card stock and lined up the Scenery: Flash Creative Screening over the black card panel and inked it all up with Versamark ink and heat set it in clear. I think those amazing shiny flashes in the background are so cool! Then I stamped the gorgeous tree from the Winter Wonderland stamp set in Versamark ink and heat set it in green embossing powder. I also heat embossed the bird image from the same set with Liquid Platinum embossing powder and perched him up on the sentiment panel, which I white heat embossed. LOL! LOTS of heat embossing here.. I am surprised my heat gun didn't blow up! LOL! As a finishing touch, I took some white pigment ink with the best tool ever, my finger... And spread it around somewhat unevenly in the background to create this gorgeous white glow! So pretty! Then I just adhered it down to a white top folding card... The stripes? That's some washi tape!

DSC_0111

So there you have it!! Lots of Winnie and Walter projects for you today showcasing some of the creative screenings line! I had such a blast creating these cards. I’ll be back next week for my last week as the Winnie and Walter December Leading Lady, sniff sniff! Until then, I’ve got a giveaway!!! Simply head on over to my blog and leave comments on all of my Leading Lady posts, and you could win a $30 gift card to Winnie and Walter!!! I will choose a winner at the end of the month from all of the Leading Lady posts, so you’ve got lots of opportunities to get your name in the hat!
